On the Road Again
After being tucked away for the winter, my SC is again vibrant.
Apparently the BatteryTender did its job because the car started up without a wheeze. (Thanks to the folks in this forum for recommending it).
The run-flat light was on probably because every tire was down about 5-6 PSI. Refreshing them, however, did not cause the light to go out so I thought I had a problem. After taking a 5-mile ride over country two-lanes, the light was extinguished, so I guess everything is okay.
Today, I took a much longer ride, most of it over two-laners winding through the beautiful Catskill foothills around the reservoirs (nearly empty) that supply New York City. Being 65 degrees, I put the top down, but wearing a PolarTec jacket, which has the wind resistance of cheesecloth, it was a tad chilly especially in the shaded areas. I just gotta stick a windbreaker in my trunk.
Because the weather is changing (getting cold again), the winds were pretty stiff today and I noticed that they had quite an effect on the car. You SC owners in California surely are familiar with side winds, but I've never heard any of you discuss the topic. Any comments?
I forgot how much I hate the racket those useless rear seatbelts make. Gotta go back to see some of your solutions. Does anyone make black sheepskin covers?
Not surprisingly, there are more squeaks, rubbings, groans, and rattles in the cabin when it's chilly. Things seemed to quiet down after warming up. I definitely will see my dealer about the amplifier suddenly blasting to full volume, the jarring ride (bushings), and some wind noise, though.
Except for the 15-mile 20mph parade behind a piece of a modular home, it was a fantastic ride on those lonely two-laners today. What a great car!

Welcome back! Oddly enough, I was suprised at the amount of top down weather days, we've had in NY. There were several days of top down weather in every month from December through March. There were at least 30 days this winter where I could comfortably keep the top down.
