Default NAV-TV to view DVD using your stock Navigation Monitor

I've just called NAV-TV (www.nav-tv.com) in Brooklyn, NY.
They now can install parts so you can view TV and/or DVD from your navigation screen. I was quoted $1600 (including installation) for the DVD package. The install time will take approx 4 hours and has to be done in their shop in NY, unless you have local installer that you are confident to do the install.
They said they've done it on SC430 before.

Any NY SC430 has done this through NAV-TV?

I am thinking about it. Is $1600 reasonable price?

Thanks,
AB

add a few hundreds more and you can have a complete DVD navigation system, ANOTHER monitor, and TV tuner.

1600 is a ripoff.

Since $1600 is too expensive, has anyone use other alternatives to play DVD on the stock nav screen?
Anyone installed aftermarket DVD player+monitor in their car?

Thanks.

I think $1600 is too much. I found this place for $500 for the equipment but I dont know how much it would cost to install.

Check it out.

1600 is way too much considering it can be done for less than 500. I am enjoying my DVD on longer trips

$1600 is a joke! Search the threads, PearlPower did a sweet setup for way, way less.

I found this on ebay last night. I have not purchased it. Does anyone have any experience with this one?

If someone could find the wiring diagram of the Nav system I can tell you which wires need to be intercepted and or build you an interface box. Haven't been able to find a wiring diagram yet though. Base band video is very easy to interface and I could most likely make an A B toggle switch.

This is quite an old thread but there are many more options available these days that come with premade harnesses for the SC430. All pretty much plug and play now. The big contender on this forum is NavTool. I went with Naviks (a newer company) b'c it was cheaper and they had awesome customer support. Really easy installation, too. If you're interested in adding video, Naviks is really worth looking into.
