Default Tire wear? How many miles have people been getting with their tires on the SC430?

I'm wondering how long tires should last on this car. I was thinking about putting on 400 (tire wear number) in an all season tire on the sc430. I've also seen many summer only tires run at 300. What is the difference in mileage that you would see with the two different compounds of tires?

Mine came originally with Dunlop RunFlats. Only got about 12K out of the fronts. At that point, I replaced all 4 with Michelin Pilot A/S. I'm at 17K on the Michelin's now and they're still good.

I've gotten 35,000+ out of the Michelin A/S. At a treadwear of 300, I would expect 25,000 - 30,000.

I was getting around 5-7k max when my car was lowered (inner wear). Now that my car is at the stock ride height I have not noticed any tire wear. But then I only drive it once or twice a week these days. Have not read or heard of the car exhibiting any abnormal tire wear so I would say 10-25k miles depending on the rubber.

I noticed some inner rear tire wear (just inner inch) on the car I'm looking at. It's at the stock ride height though. What could be causing it?

I would try to see how many miles are on those tires. Are the front and rear tires the same? Were the tires new when installed or were some used tires slapped on the rear that perhaps had the wear pattern to begin with?
Could also be an alignment issue.

I think they have 7000 miles and are all the same tire. If so could the rear need an alignment?

I have the same problem on my 07 with 16,000 miles. I asked two dealers and received the same answer so I assume it's true. They said that the SC430's are originallyalligned with a negaive 1/2 degree camber to allow for better handling. The result is inside wear on all four tires. One dealer offered to allign all four wheels without the negative camber which they said would result in even tire wear.

If I were given the option from day one, I would have opted for the 0 degree camber and even tire wear, wouldn't you?

I got 26K miles out my OEM Bridgestone RF's. Probelm as stated above was inside wear. Had I been aware of re-alignment option I probably could have gotten 30K out of them. Replaced OEM's with Pilot-Sport A/S and a spare. Couldn't be happier with the PS's. They make the car into a true LEXUS.

After the realignment to 0 degrees, did you notice worse handling?

I have not had the wheels alligned yet. I'm waiting for the OEM tires to wear out completely. At that point I will switch to non run-flats and will then allign @ 0 degrees. I don't drive the car with agression, so I doubt I would notice a difference.

The car does not have enough camber adjustment to correct for a lowered car. Many cars need a camber kit to correct the alignment once lowered.
