Any Suggestion to fix harden leather

Default Any Suggestion to fix harden leather

I have 2 sc430 one with tinted windows and the other on without tint long story short the one without tint the leather is starting to harden like hard plastic. I use the lexus leather thing on it every month but, the leather is still harden. Any suggestion on how to make it soft like new again?

Once the leather has hardened, it's very difficult to restore its' softness. It sounds as if the leather has lost all of its' moisture. If this is true, the only way to restore the leather is to strip off all the dye (color) and use something like Leatherique (www.leatherique.com). This is a very long and arduous process which involves re-dying the leather. Unless you're really good with this sort of thing, you may need to have an auto upholsterer do this. It will not be cheap. Otherwise, you'll have to live with it. There is no magic cure once the leather has hardened. Most likely, anything you put on it at this point won't penetrate the leather fibers. Sorry for the bad news, but I've been down that road several times, and this is usually how it is.
