Default LED Puddle Light + dome light upgrade!!

I sourced some puddle lights and a few led lights and I decided to give the SC a little upgrade! I have the puddle lights arranged to turn on when the courtesy lights automatically come on. And my lovely girlfriend bought me (2) 4X2 LED strips and I went ahead and installed them in my dome lights, the interior lights look almost identical to the new IS350’s.

Overall I am very happy with the outcome! Enjoy…

****Sorry for the blurry pictures***

Looks great. Do you mind sharing the source and stock numbers of the lights?

nice, but seems like you need to adjust the first (front) puddle light, it doesn't seem to fully align with others

Thanks guys

Yes, unfortunately I thought I had them lined up straight but I was getting tired as I was working on the cars all day and I kinda rushed to finish. I will go back this weekend and adjust them a little.

As or the price, I got them for next to nothing from a friend who has a shop here in the San Fernando Valley. I will ask him where he got them and how much they will run.

as for the led dome lights ill have to ask my girlfriend where she bought them from.

Nice. Those pictures just might cause me to put those puddle lights on my SC. I like them a lot.

I'm interested where you got them too. Also, where did you get the feed?
thanks,

lar

Do they fade up in brightness and fade down, like the courtesy lights do? And, if they do, how did you do that?

I tapped into the foot well courtesy lights, I found a rubber grommet right under the driver’s floorboard and I snaked the wire through there and then tapped into the lights, which allow the puddle lights to turn when they do.

They actually do, since I tapped into the foot well lights which already “fade up and down” the led also do the same. They gradually light until there are at full capacity, and then they gradually dim

I spoke to my friend whom I bought my puddle lights from and he said he doesn’t have any more in stock. However, I did a little research and found pretty much the same lights elsewhere online. The kit I found is a little bit better than mine as it has 10 lights instead of only 8 per package. They already come prewired and all you need to do it attach and tap into your foot well lights on each side.

Here is the site that carries them currently, and at 25 dollars it is still a steal!

I also spoke to my girlfriend and she said she bought the led dome lights from Pep Boys. They are Pilot automotive ip-078W lights. On the front it says “universal LED interior lights,” the best part is that is comes with adaptors to fit our preexisting sockets. There are 5 or 6 different bases so all you do is choose the one that fits our dome light and you are ready to go. The LED strip already comes with an adhesive strip on the back so installation can be done in less than 5 minutes. She said that Pep Boy’s had it listed for about 20 bucks each, and we would need 2 to complete the look.
I found something similar online to give you guys an idea of what I am talking about.

If anyone needs step by step instructions, just PM me and I’ll give you the run down.
