Cost of TPM Sensors
My car is at the dealer today getting new wheels installed. They tell me that all four TPM sensors are bad. I've asked the dealer to work with me on price. What's a decent price per sensor?

You can also get them through the CL group buy from Sewell. Discount may be a little deeper (better) than the price offered on eBay. I paid somewhere around $320 (which included shipping) for a set for my '06 SC430.

Sewell Lexus is selling these on ebay for $349, but you probably can send them a PM here on CL to get a better price.

Thanks, all! The car is already at the dealer, so at this point I'm just looking for some negotiating leverage. The car won't be done today. Service guy tells me that they didn't realize that the sensors come in a set of four distinct colors, and they were missing one of the colors. Hmmm...it always concerns me when I know more than the service people do.

Unfortunately, a single dealer here in Baltimore has the entire market (if you're in the area, Len Stoler also owns Lexus of Towson). Here was my experience:
- $109/tpms plus 1/2 hour charge for programming
- broken stud = $105 (yes, they broke a stud and charged me for replacing it)
- got my OEM wheels back and the idiots removed the 10 screws for the pie plate from each wheel, but they were nice enough to throw them into the box along with the wheels.
Entire cost = $671
This dealer has been raping me for 5 years, and since I'm stuck with them as the only dealership in the area they finally convinced me to never buy another Lexus.

Gee, sorry to hear about your issues. That certainly warrants a call (and maybe a followup letter) to "corporate" Lexus! That has always been one of my issues with the luxury brands. Depending on where you live, there aren't that many around. So occasionally you get one that treats you like crap. The "where else you gonna go" mentality.
