Default Possible to get a used car CPO'ed?

I have found a couple of really nice SC's, but they are being sold by non Lexus dealers. Is it possible for me to get them CPO'ed after purchasing them?

Nope, they only certify their own but you may want to ask if they offer an outside extended warranty on it. A few dealerships do that.

Tensi,, the original Lexus warranty transfers with the car.., so when I found my '04 this Spring,, it still had just less than one year of full warranty on it. After that,, hey it's a Lexus and shouldn't break,, as many threads on this site will inform you about the SC 430 - expecially those by Pearlpower, Talwang and others who have had their SCs for years and read/written the trials and tribulations in this forum.

I agree 100% with lugnuts. I just recently completed a purchase of a pre-owned Lexus which I purchased from a BMW dealership. I wasn't concerned with the vehicle with regards to certification, it is a Lexus! The miles were low and it appeared to be in good shape. What I did do though was get a CARFAX report, and I asked the local Lexus dealer to run the VIN number to see whether or not the vehicle had been through it's scheduled maintenance. They were nice enough to do that and showed me that the vehicle had been maintained. I did moderate research on the SC prior to purchasing and realized that if you buy the vehicle from a non-Lexus dealership, the prices tend to be a little lower. That is even before negotiations begin. But definitely do some homework. It is a Lexus, but I imagine there are still some "abused" Lexus' out there! Good luck and keep us posted!

Thank you both. I have been doing as much reading as my time provides. It seems this car is a solid bet. I just have to find the right car now. Thanks again for all the help everyone!
