Default LS or SC?

Just curious (since I got mine used I could not afford the 65K anyway), but out of curiosity:
If you had to buy today would you get an new LS or a SC? They are pretty much the same price and the new LS is REALLY nice IMO. Or would you try and wait for a redesign of the SC in 08?

I know this is the SC forum but you gotta admit the new 07 LS is looking good.

I've done the SC430 twice. It's a great car, but I'm past it. For me and for that kind of money it would be the LS460 at this point.

I'm in the same boat. I've loved the SC for a few years, but I'm ready for the LS - unless of course the new SC is a stunner!

I'd go for the newest & the best, the LS460, but it's much harder to say between a new redesigned SC & the new LS . . .

Tough choice here. If I had to do it all over again, I would still get the SC (today or the future re-designed form from the showroom floor. It's a no brainer for me.

There is an abundance of flagship sedans but limited production sport coupes/convertibles.

Pop the top when the sun is out or it's not raining and put the top up when you have to. It's exciting and fun to play with the hard top convertible. Plus, it's a little easier to park since it's a shorter in length and parallel parking is much more simple to deal with.

I've I had my share of large sedans so I want something different and more on the sporty side.

I think the LS has that auto paraell park thing? The "Advanced Parking Guidance System" where it parallel parks the car for you? I think thats PIMP! THEY have to put this in the SC if its going to be thier flagship car!! Here is the link. Click on the "View Demo" All I have to say is "DAMM LEXUS YOU ROCK!"

two cars are so different, i think you should get it straight about what kind of car you want first, otherwise no matter how nice the car is you still wont' like it

my wife loves the sc430, and i am die hard fan of the ls460

I would rather just buy a red wagon...oh wait.....that is a completly different vehicle.....wait...so is the LS and the SC.
Sorry, but questions like this has that coming. Both are very nice. Each completely different modes of transportation. Kind of like asking if I would take a new IS350 or a used Ferrari. Just different to the degree that most would not consider the other.

Exactly.
It reminds me that someone here compared SC430 to MB CL.
I would understand if SC was compared to MB SL.
MB CL is not even a convertable.

They weren't directly comparable, but from my personal observations, people do switch from one type of cars to another all the time, sometimes for no apparent reason.
Some of the people I know, switched from coupe to sedan & back to coupe. There is another who switched from a Porsche 911 to a Mercedes ML SUV, & then to the Porsche Cayman S he has now & he is a single guy.
I know another single lady who switched from a BMW 645ci to an Infinti QX SUV.
Before I bought the SC430, the Mercedes E500 is the other final candidate that I narrowed down to as an alternative, not the CLK500, which is in the same price range, after considering a # of other cars . . .

well switching is no problem, but then you need to know where you switch to. for us we switch to coupe coz' we have a sedan. if we don't have a sedan we don't think about another coupe. that's how i see it.
