If anyone still has run-flats on I'd suggest ditching them and enjoying a wonderful ride on new standard tires. Makes a world of difference. I bought the Conti Extreme DWS'

Hi guys. I'm hoping to fit a 45 profile tire's all round to help brace and protect sidewall and rims from Irish roads. 40 profiles are just not feasible on the fun back roads of counties Clare and Galway and the current 40's are both damaged and at deaths door now. They are not run-flats.

Apart from needing a 45 profile, I'm open to anything that does not rub. 18, 19, 20's & 8, 9, 10, 11 inch wide etc... I was thinking 18 for cost, but would like to go as wide and a s close as I can.

I was looking to get a set of ASA AR 1's in Germany and was hoping that a wheel expert would be able to advise me on a good offset for the fronts and rears, i.e. what's the reasonable max I can go, considering it's going to be a 45 profile tyre and the wheel will be seeing a full range of suspension travel.

The tire will probably a be a wallet stretching Federal SS595 tire, of which I had good experience before. I really want to fill the arches properly but with no rubbing issues. I have seen the great chart, but am convinced that it does not take into account a mad Irishman wanting to up the profile of the tire...

Hoping for a little bit of guidance on this issue for me. Thanks in advance and a free pint of Guinness if I meet you. I'll be in Boston MA all next week by the way.

what's your exact current tire size? tire width affects the height, rim width also affects the tire height.

A 225/40 on a 7 inch rim is a taller then a 225/40 on an 8.5 inch wide rim.

A 245/40 is taller then a 225/40, keep in mind 40 is the percentage of the width 245mm X 40% = 90mm high.

Hi and thanks for the reply Braheem.

Exact current spec rims and tyres which soon will be stored in the attic, is non-runflat 245/40x18 Dunlop SP2000 tires on standard year 2002 SC430 rims.

I intend buying four new ASA wheels and four new Federal tires soon. I'm hoping to go as big and as wide as I can on the new rim and tire selection on a 45 profile,
without rubbing anywhere, and I'm hoping to fill out the rear arches from the current badly undershod look.

hahahaha.. shokran ya basha

Awesome.. ill stick to 36mm all round with 255/285

NKTUNER your setup looks nice on the front wheels.. i think as ibrahim states 36 all round 9.5 front 10.5 rear would look awesome.

Hi Braheen et al:

OK, after a lot of looking and thinking, I've narrowed it down to a staggered set on Enkei Raijin's.
Fronts 18 x 8 with an ET 40 and Rears in 18 x 9.5 with an ET 35. These being most like a set of Lexus G-spider rims..... I tried to buy G-Spiders but got no reply from vendor**

What's the recommened fitment of tire for those Enkei rims gents ?

Comparing 245 45-18 to 275/40-18 seems to show virtually equal heights of sidewall but I don't want any rubbing issues.
http://old.mcgrefer.com/compare3/245...age-2-diameter

** I e-mailed directly and PM'ed on here Sewell Lexus about their onerous $676 shipping charge, https://i.imgur.com/Ho7Nl.jpg......when I was considering Lexus G-Spider rims, asking if they could reduce the shipping but I thus far got no reply or even an acknowledgement. Compare that with Tirerack who are more than helpful so far, and will get my cash it seems, shipping being $250 dollars and they actually respond to e-mails in a timely fashion.....

Graham, They will work without issues.

I would do the 245/45 front 8" rim and 275/40 rear 9.5" rim.

Ok Gentlemen,

Need a little help. I have read all the threads and played with the numbers and I think this will work the best but need help from the pro's. I up upgrading my 02 SC430 color is eggplant/black and want an aggressive look without having to make modifications. The wheels I am looking at are the Work Rezax with the chrome finish.

This is what I am thinking.
Front 19x9.5 +30 w- 255/35/19
Rear 19x10.5 +30 w-285/30/19

Ok,

I re-examined the chart again (Thanks for the explanation on the chart Talwang) an it looks like I can go with a +25 offset in the front (19x9.5) and +35 offset in the rear(19x10.5) with my stock suspension setup.

Let me know if I f'd up or am good to go.

Thanks

You're perfect, it'll be a nice fit without looking teenybopper.

I would however change to 245 in the front otherwise it'll be meatier then the rears.

Thanks,

I am going with the 19x9.5 +25 with 245/35/19 and 19x10.5 +30 with 285/30/19. Does anyone have pics of what this will look like? I found lots of pics with nice wheels but no specs to get ideas.

So I have new 19" (8.5 / 10") wheels coming and reading this makes me tempted to go for 40 anf 35 in stead of 35 and 30, front and rear. Sounds that should work. I'll check the widths at tire rack and post what that would be. Would love to read your comments when send the sizes.
