SC430 Aero parts fitment feedback thread
In an effort to utilize the collective knowledge of CL members who have added aero parts to their car, it would benefit other members who are contemplating the purchase of parts to know some details up front.
If possible, please include the following info:
Car Year - Just in case there is some quirk about a certain year.
Part type - full kit, bumper, sideskirts, spoiler, roof spoiler, grille, lips, ...
Part make - the manufacturer of the part
Part construction - polyurethane, FRP, fiberglass, ...
Source - where did you get the part
Price - if available
Fitment - crash bar shaving, crash bar removal, bolts alignment, any quirks on how it lines up, smoothness of surface, prep work requirement, ...
Installation - any install tips?
Durability - how it holds up (driving mishaps, scrapes, bumps, ...)
Notes - anything else to add
Let me know if there is anything other useful info that I've left out.
Thanks.

Alright time for me to be the first to start this thread...
2002 SC430 with around 30 000km on it
-Auto Couture Full Front and Rear Bumper Replacement for the SC430
-Did not include side skirts
-Made by Evolution Japan
-It is made out of FRP or fiberglass reinforced plastic
I had an issue with the installer of the kit saying that fiberglass is not very good blah blah but it is very easy to work with, and easy to repair if damaged rather than a urethane unit
-Bought from Steve @ Carson Toyota on a Group Buy
-fitment of AC kits are normally excellent, the installer said that there was some work required to line things up in the front correctly. It looks great now! In the rear there is some issues with fitment still available and they don't line up EXACTLY with the rear fenders but are very close. I'm not sure if the installer saw this, I should mention it to him
-mmm not install tips that I know of
-have not had any durability problems yet, because thankfully I have not hit anything yet! (Knock on wood) My ride height is perfect that I do not scrape my front bumper going over bumps or slopes. I'm still going to raise it up a little though to be on the safe side
You need new foglights for this bumper. The ones I got were HELLA units and I can't recall if they came with the kit or not. Installer said they didn't, Steve said they did, all I know is that they were in there when I got the car back!
The only negative is that they make my HRE 19's look small hahaha
I don't believe anyone has really posted pics of this kit, or even has it for that matter that I know of. The kits on Carson and Autocouture's site do not do justice to how the kit looks! It is amazing, very different from just the AC lip kit and is very subtle and not extreme. That is how it should be. The installer's here in Alberta are used to the ricey, extreme and disgusting body kits of civics where holes are located everywhere on the car and spoilers that don't do anything. The installer was like "whats so good about this kit, its nearly the same as your stock ones". A Lexus should be classy, subtle, have finesse, be beautiful. The look I was going for was that if someone who owned an SC looked at it and said, "There's something different about your car, but I can't pick out what!". If someone said this then I've achieved what I was going for!
Alright enough of a bore, not for the PICS!!
Probably too late to say that 56k users beware!!!
I really need to learn how to snap pics, I'm a bad photographer with a bad camera!

Looks great, Steve.
I have been thinking about buying Tom's front bumper and side skirts.
After having seen yours, I give it a second thought..maybe I should go for autocouture as well.

AC Kit
I love what you've done to your SC430...the kit is really clean and subtle without being overly aggressive. Great job and keep up the good work bro!

Herragge,
Very nice job with the AC full kit. One suggestion is taking off the "L" on the front grill. Would give your SC a much more aggressive appearance head on.
I've never been to Alberta how are the roads?

Hey 2savvy,
I've thought about removing the emblem...still debating through it.
About the roads, lets just say that I would be crazy to drive the SC in the winter. No salt which is good but they use gravel in the winter instead which chips and grinds the paint really bad on low cars. Good thing I got an LX for the winter!
Hows the weather in the GTA? I had a business on queens a looong time ago and have many relatives in toronto.
Do you still have your SC?
Steve

Hey Steve,
Nope no SC anymore.. Dropped down a bit and got a G35C when the wife and I had our first child.. Not a baby friendly car but the FX35 makes up for that short fall.. Interior is also lacking from the SC430 but the driving dynamics make up for the rest and is much easier on the pocket book.. GTA weather has been excellent this year.. Hope it stays like this but I think we are overdue for a bad snowfall..
As for your front emblem by all means take it off.. Cleans up the front end and with that body kit it would look perfect IMO.. Congrats on your car its well done!!
Ken

And what the heck is up with this sticky??? It's been up here for years and only ONE person posting their story?? I'd really like to see this thread grow because I am seriously considering getting some body kit parts.

I thought I was going to see a host of SC430s with tight kits and great stories! Why is this a sticky?

Artisan Full Bodykit
2weeks ago, I ordered front bumper and fog lamp of Artisan bodykit in Japan.
It looks like BRABUS style but I think it's best in SC430.
maybe 2 or 3weeks later, I can equip this bodykit.
