SC 430 Run Flat Tires Problem
I've had my 2002 Black SC 430 for about a month now and I love it...well, almost all of it. The run-flat tires on it seem to ride kinda rough. I drove another 2002 before I bought this one that didn't have run flat tires and I remember it driving much smoother over bumps.
My SC 430 is very smooth on the highway or flat roads, but the moment I hit a bump, the car jumps around and I almost feel like I momentarily lose control of the car. And it makes noise and rattles my driving experience. I kind of thought that when I bought I Lexus (I upgraded from a Honda Accord) the ride would be smooth where you go over bumps and its almost unnoticable.
Is this something I should expect from these runflat tires? Have other people experienced this? If I change tires, what should I go with for my hoped-for smooth luxe ride? Will I have to then carry a spare?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the runflats give a harsher ride due to their stiff sidewalls. Many owners here switched to the regular tires & the ride is much improved. If you do that, you can go without a spare until the Lexus Roadside Assistance expires, or rely on AAA membership after that if you don't usually drive the car too far out of town to more remote areas.
There's also a Lexus spare tire kit(spare tire with mount in the trunk) you can order for about $1000 installed, but that would take away most of your already limited trunk space.

You can also get some ideas of what tires to replace the runflats with by looking at THESE THREADS and THESE THREADS

If your car is still in Warranty just call Lexus dealer to pick you and the car up.
No charge for a 50 mile tow on a flat bed truck plus 10.00 to take the tire/wheel
of and put it back on. I took the tire/wheel to the local discount tire for a new
tire and returned to the Lexus dealer and the put it back on the car. Total price
10.00 + cost of a new tire a lot cheaper than a new run-crap tire. the last run-craps
I had were on a corvette and by the time I got ot the tire store the tire could not be
fixed and cost almost 400.00.
