True Ice Blue / Red caps for the clusters !!
I was tooling around looking for some spare parts and ran across some caps for the 197 bulbs. they fit just enough to countersink into both the ac clusters AND the speedo clusters. Of course... i had to grab a set and see if they would fit as i suspected. They did !!! here's a few shots of the caps and them fired up. Now you can go ice blue or blood red with your background in your clusters. and ac units too
I have already verified the color and it is pure and very clean. if you guy's want me to pick any caps up for you next time i go let me know.

You wanted it, you got it
the blue looks really good, BUT the red is AMAZING. It is the EXACT same color as the red needle's on the 96 and up sc's and soooo pure and deep blood red, yet bright as can be. I love blue, i will always like it best, but there is NO COMPARISON between the red and blue. the red is HANDS DOWN ten times better looking in this case. unfortunately i have to find a way to photograph it because it is so deep in color and bright it drowned out the camera. The blue is accurate in the pic.

Road trip
I gotta' get down there and visit your shop. I've only got one segment out on one of my needles, and my backlights all still work (Amazing for a '93), but you are doing some cool things. I agree, red needles & red backlighting would look really good.
Always liked the all-red of the Pontiac guages at night, though I think they overdid it just a tad. Now I just gotta' convince the wife that I need all these goodies. "Really honey, it'll make my car more reliable."

na, just the opening on the spreader. you'll see if you search for "climate control i fixed it" and view ryans thread. since the opening is 194, you can simply cap it off and the bulb hangs freely inside without having to be subjected to heat wrap.
And din....... this red would absolutely KILL in your car.

how many bulbs total can be retrofitted with these sleeves (speedo and ac unit)
has anyone figured out if it's possible to change the color on the nak decks yet?

nak decks... done it many times.
there are i believe 8 backlight bulbs for the speedo unit and three for the lcd in the ac as well as 3 for the buttons. you can use these anywhere. including the shifter panel for auto's. (did i mention it works on map lights too)?

i'm not selling them, i'm just passing them along. they are 12 bucks for 3 of them. that's enough to do the lcd in the A/C unit. if you want me to get them from the local electronics store for you just pm me.
edit: actually it is 12 bucks for 6 of them, it's 6 bucks for three.
