Default New pair of shoes (supra tt wheels)

ok so after a long hard winter , i finally found a very clean set of tt wheels off a 97 supra. They are pristine , and i was so excited to try them on. They have race tires way to aggressive not comfortable to drive on the street but they will be changed this week. I am very happy with the fresh, flush, original look the supra wheels give an SC. As you know they are 17x8 in front and 17x9.5 in rear. Wrapped with 275/40/17 in rear and 255/40/17 in the front.

Let me know what you guys think, I will try to get her all cleaned up tomorrow and shine the wheels to post better pics.

Any advice on sticking with 275 in rear? Maybe a smudge larger? AM i greedy?

Here are the pics taken a few hours apart today.

That looks amazing. One of my favorite looks for an SC.

TT wheels are nice if you want to change the look a bit but still keep a stock style look.

They are much nicer wheels than the SC stocks for sure!

Good find

I miss my "blade" wheels but for great "factory" looks and function there is no comparison. Good going!

For tire sizing, you're already as large as you should go on both the front and rear rims. The rears can go to 285 with some compounds but it is not ideal and not recommended. 275 is plenty for 9.5" width.

With the stock engine, though, there would be a very minor increase in acceleration with a 255/40-17 rear tire and 235/45-17 up front. With the smaller sizes and stock engine output you already have plenty of rubber to overcome. With a turbo engine it is more advisable to go with the larger sizes you have now.

What brand and model are you running now? I highly recommend the BFG Comp2. Great all around rubber.

How greedy do you want to get?

Widen the front wheels to 11" and switch to the back. Rear to the front.... 275 F 315/305 R.

i have NEVER been a fan of lowering a car , advise on a good solid, not cheap set tow lower it maybe 1/2 -1 inch? i feel like it will make her but look bigger and look every fuller.

excellent info! I'm looking for a tire right now that keeps the lexus a LEXUS on this highway and not a honda civic. I want it to be as quiet as these large tires can be on the highway.

The wheels look great! They seem to look better on an SC than they do on a Supra.

As far as wider tires go, a friend of mine sent his TT wheels off to get them widened so he could bigger tires on them.

Wheels look great! Congrats on your pickup! Those and the G35 Rays are two of my favorite non-lexus wheels!
