Hey Scott great looking project! Its great you took the oppurtunity to build one with your son. He'll never forget it.
I'm still here slowly chipping away on my twin screw/ e85 project and might pickup up a CD009 to swap in place of the a340e, thats if I can get time to drive 3hrs to pick it up.
Just had our first baby boy 2 months ago. He and my wife, were all doing great. Had the Avanti out a few weekends over the summer too

The grill throws everyone, its custom, it is actually a XL/LTD front but a standard Galaxie hood and bumper, made the center out of 2 cars to flatten out the nose, headlight opening is now electric verses vacuum via a ford probe headlight motor.
We plan to do.another short block.later with a aftermarket block and do stroker internals, thats after the Lexus lives.
Regarding the TO bearing, we currently have a McLeod hydraulic set up that will move over to the T56. The Magnum is a completely aftermarket unit and is stronger than any oem t56.

: Love it ! I had a 69 XL convertible when I was a teen I wish I still had it. I want to get another one at some point .
