Default How hard is a 93 sc300 to steal?

So a neighbor of mine calls a mutual friend and tells me some guys in a white 4 door lexus stopped at my car and gave it the look over. Then two of them came back and checked it out a second time. Later a car pulled up next to it and did a slow drive by as soon as the sun set. Now I have a garage and will put it away in a little bit once I do some "tv" watching out my window.
Question I have is my little red light is flashing on the dash indicating that the car is armed, I think. But how hard would it be for someone to run the car without the keys?

Again they did pull up in a lexus and might be fans of the car, but really? Twice? poss 3 times? ehhh looks like im not sleeping tonight.

Weren't they the most carjacked cars in the '90s? That would indicate they're difficult to steal without the key. Granted, I'd rather not be in my car when it's stolen.

They would have to do some major busting to steal it, but it is definitely possible. I know if I see an SC I give it a look-see and walk around it...

I couldnt comment on the ease or lack of, for stealing one. But it's funny you say, I ALWAYS double take a look, look inside and even snap a picture when I see a clean SC in a parking lot. As a bystander yeah, that def looks fishy. If you have a garage, by all means, tuck her in man..

I worry more about a tow truck mysteriously pulling up to the car and taking it more than anyone figuring out how to hotwire it. that is what probably happens the most I think to all kinds of cars. park a spare honda or corolla behind the SC and you should be fine =)

its extremely easy if you know what your doing, i had to replaced my ignition and noticed how easy it would be. you could tear off the panels push a lock switch and jump 2 wires and start it.

It would be pretty easy to steal with a flat bed or a tow truck. I heard it happens a lot in Florida.

It's pretty easy to slip a Coathanger through the door gap and hook the lock to open, the end has to be slightly sharpened however, 'cause you'd never get it with a blunt end. Whoever's trying to steal your car has to beat the computer though, because the car will lock itself back up pretty quickly and sound the alarm after it's unlocked.

As for the ignition, they either have to have the original key or a key with a matching transponder chip or some hotwiring knowhow. If the key is just a duplicate without a programmed chip the car will just shut off or not start at all, never seen it demonstrated though.

We're well armed where I live, bullets are cheap. People get real nervous when they're looking down the business end of a 12 gauge pump fully loaded with the plug out. Caught 2 guys backed up to my beemer one day with a car hauler, they didn't think any one was home as my buddy had borrowed my DD. They sure left quick! LOL.
