So I want to change the valve cover gaskets. I have to remove that y pipe from throttle body to intake manifold should I change the gasket thats there car has 180k miles. Does anybody know the amount of torque the bolts for the valve covers should be?

I just picked up all the parts to do the same service on my car this morning. I would recommend changing the spark plugs too while the y pipe is off.

To answer your question I've removed the y pipe before without changing the gasket and I had no problems. I plan on changing the gasket this time since it was only $8 from the dealer.

Valve cover is 73 inch pounds or 6 ft lbs
