Tire routes, which would you choose?
Hello all, I need some advice on which tires are more suitable for my current situation. There's 2 specific tires I've been looking at:
1. Continental DW
2. Nankang NS2
With that being said, the Continental's are gonna run me a little over $900 including installation & the Nankangs are about $500 installed. Now being that I only drive the car 3 or 4 times a month, which tire would you choose? It's very apparent that the Continental tires are much better overall but would it be worth it to dish out the extra cash if I'm only driving the car once a week?

i just bought some Nankang NS-20's for my SL500 that came out to $314 shipped. I should be installing them today, so in a couple weeks I can give you a proper review.

Being a somewhat tire ***** I'd say go with the dw's... I wouldn't even consider the v12 evo's- I had to add 3-4psi to each corner to get the sidewalls to stop flexing in corners. I managed a bit over 10k miles on them and they were downright scary in the rain when they were near the wear limit.
I put the dw's on my previous beater and loved them- quiet and handled similarly to the Bridgestone re50's and wore better. The last time I tried to save a buck on tires I wasn't happy ($70 rebate swung me to a set)

the tires are the only contact you have be-twine the road and 1650 KG of car
don't go cheap on medium rated tires , buy those with good reviews or experience from other drivers you know
even if you only use the car a few times a month

When I bought some wheels for my 300ZX, the fronts had Continentals on them and some very worn out Toyos on the back. When I got new tires for the rear, I paid the money for 19" Continentals, not a cheap tire. However, I'm very pleased with them and have peace of mine that I'm not running some Taiwanese or Chinese tire on my very expensive car.
