Yesterday, after.... installing my new single contact, bayonet mount LED lights to replace my current incandescent lamps for my turn signals, I am having problems. This morning,when I started the car, I noticed that the stop lamp outage warning light was on on the instrument panel. When I go to use my turn signals, the lights flash rapidly like a lamp is out. This does not affect the emergency flashers which work just fine with the LED conversion. All lights work, the polarity is correct, and this is the only trouble I have. The one dual contact bayonet mount lamp for the running/stop lamps are still installed.
Has anybody ran into this problem before, and if so, what is the fix please. I want to go ahead and convert the front turn signals, turn lights, and running lights after I hopefully get this sorted out.

yes everyone runs into this problem on all cars. the flasher works by wattage, the LED bulbs use less watts so the flasher over flashes the lights. there's some work arounds like getting resistors for each light but you can also remove the flasher, open it up, and desolder the little metal loop you'll see inside it, then get a high wattage 5 ohm resistor and put it in its place. something like this http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...nQ1qyHICUlk%3d
also search the forums and google, you'll find something.
as for the blown light lamp turning on the dash, same reason, wattage is too low, car thinks it's a blown light, just take the bulb out from the dash or whatever you wanna do with it.

PS, if you modify the flasher with the resistor, you need to have all flashing lights as LEDs, otherwise the resistor will melt.

^^^If you have a 92-94 SC, that's the only fix for it. But if you have 95+ you can simply change the flasher to a digital one. Follow my Blue Flame thread in my sig to see what kind of flasher I used.

Thanks for the reply. I have a '92 SC400, so I'll have to install the resistor that oldManTan told me about. I checked out your SC300 build, Beautiful work there feller!

Please make completely sure that all of your turn signal bulbs are now LEDs before you swap out the hoop for a resistor. Best case scenario if you don't is you have to buy a new resistor, but you could lose the flasher module as well.
