so I ended up figuring it out, it's not hard it's just not convenient lol, all the work is in modding/cutting the cap. I will be making a simple write up when I get my new parts in for you guys

I also have a H3 fog light kit from DDM.

Haven't installed them yet. But you're saying they're not plug & play?

Well I managed to figure it out, the install process is a lot more work that I wanted it to be. And I had a epic fail and destroyed 1 hid in the process so I only got to do 1. So I'm going to have to reorder 1 more bulb then hopefully get it on there

It's a pain in the *** because if you want a clean install and if you want the entire thing to fit like factory you have to hack up the cap that goes to the back of the fog light.

Im extremely picky when it comes down to hack stuff but I like keeping everything in the car as oem and original as possible. So I did a shifty hack job because I didn't have the tools for a clean job but it was functional.

As far as the ground on the hid you have to shave it till it fits the oem port. Just used a file , just be careful not to make it to skinny

In the end I got one side done and here's the result.

In the end I like it. But it dosnt exactly match my headlights which is what I wanted. But it didn't look bad. It might be better just to get a extreamly strong led bulb instead of going the hid route. If I get tired of it later I'm go the led route and see how it goes

I would buy new caps so everything's back to normal and buy some h3 50-80w LED s. Many even brighter than hids idk

And please excuse any typos through auto correct

why don't you get the same bulb as your low beams so it'll match (different base) same type/color bulb

I have 55w 5500k for lows
and
I have 35w 5000k for dogs

Problem is they don't make 35w 5500k bulbs they go from 5000 to 6000. Idk if I can use a 55w bulb with a 35w ballast n get the sMs results

I might even trade of for 35w hids for my lows to match everything but well see, I might like the look how it's sits atm

I see. I guess the 55w is supposed to "wash" out I have heard the way to describe this is that -1000k.

Also, I really don't like it when the original bulb connector comes out at 90 degrees and the HID is just straight causing the cap not to close, I have had to drill a large hole on other cars, and then seal it up with tape, I found a very good tape to reseal the holes. Let me know if you need to do that.

Golden95sc, should have done a search for the bulb removal of the fog light. I did an instruction process and u don't have to remove the front bumper. Only thing I left out of the direction is that U could remove the tire for granteement of ascess to the fog light region and fact the clasp is the ground connection to the fog light.

People always think the wattage is determined by the bulb. It is not. The ballast is where you control wattage. I have an old Xentec 55w ballast mounted from a previous owner, plugged into my 35w DDM kit. I only tested it on one side to see how much brighter it was. It was brighter and slightly different color temp. The old ballast can be opened up and actually tweaked to change wattage. YouTube has great examples.

So really, I just need new ballasts, if I want 55w power. 25 more watts is just being pushed to the bulbs when switching to 55.

And before I bought my kit, I did do some research. I will let you know how my install goes. Been too much snow and freezing temps. I have 12k violet for looks. I don't have a visibility issue with my 8ks.

I only removed my bumper because I put in my glass high beam that I replaced. It also helped me mount my ballast cleanly around the power steering cooler. I Just ordered replacement bulbs, so hopefully By Friday I should recieve thrm

Whenever they get here il make a write up on how to cleanly install them. I'm touch up everything I did and clean it up.

I know about the bulb situation. Problem is that for some reason the 55w kit came with an option 5500k bulb. And the 35w didn't. It might help to mention I bought the "ultra" kit.

I just drilled a hole through the cap and cut a slit to run the wirEs, looks similar to yours, whenever I redo it I'm going to clean it up and add a grommet for a cleaner install. I have 4 wires coming out of it

Seriously wish someone would have told me drilling and what not us needed do do my fogs. Everyone made it seem as long as I get to them, plug and play. Wish I had a garage. Might pay someone to install it. I don't have the time right now. Ugh
