That's certainly possible. In the unfortunate event I ever put it to the test, I'll be sure to look it over afterward for signs of undue wear and tear.

propper tow strap metal part is twice as thick as the metal on the seatbelt..

When you say "thick" are you talking depth or width, looking at the bolt hole?
