Default Part Out or Junk? '96 SC300

Hey everyone!

I recently crashed my 1996 Lexus SC300. I spun out and smacked a pole next to the gas tank (back passenger side). There's a solid dent in the side, no more back windshield, and the trunk is dented. The frame is damaged and the fuel line is messed up so the car doesn't start.

ANYWAYS, I was wondering if it is worth it to try and do a "pick your part" sale on craigslist etc. (I don't know how to remove anything myself) or if I should just take the $200-$300 to junk it.

Please help me out! My dad is on my back about getting it out of the driveway.

I'm sorry about the accident. another SC off the road but glad you are ok. on the bright side it may help other SC owners in need.

Parting it out is goanna take a looooong time even if you go the $1 per part route. sounds like junking the whole thing is your best bet, especially if your dad is already on your back. maybe try putting more info and pics of it and see if someone local (CA) needs a parts car? I need one myself.

definitely part it out, just the interior itself will be more than $300. good luck and maybe you'll get another SC.

Part it out. 2JZ swaps are popular and even if it's an N/A Variant you can still get a lot of cash for it. Don't pay someone to get rid of your car for you, that's probably the biggest waste of money ever. If anything they should give YOU money.

I may also want to take the passenger airbag off your hands depending on what type it is.

Wow, new member already leaving us? Please stay. Now what exactly is wrong with your SC now? I'm tracking an accident, but specifics? Is the car worth fixing? etc. If you must get rid of the car, I wouldn't try it here...you don't qualify to part out here. Nothing against you, per the rules of the forum. Maybe you could sell local, or list somewhere else (other sites) as a running/parts car-if this is the case? Either way, good luck.

200-300 for it is a rip off to get it junked. It should easily bring 500+ anyway you sell it. If it's a stick I'd drop the tranny and related 5 spd accessories and junk it then go swap into another sc300. Luckily in cali Sc300s if you aren't looking for a stick in specific are a dime a dozen and not too expensive.

It really depends on the condition and color of the interior. As said earlier just a few of the parts can bring you the $300 if the door panels are good, steering wheel, instrument cluster, interior window trim, A pillar trim, you would be past that mark already especially if you have black interior. Then you get into the engine and transmission etc and you are ahead of the game. If nothing else as said earlier it should be worth more then that to the right person who needs a parts car.

Part out would be your best choice.

Remove the parts that are worth the most that you can resell, then sell it to a JY. Good luck!
