not sure what the hype for a E39 is all about.

i've driven them, many times. ride quality is the same as my SC. he's got coils, i have coils, he's got upgraded bushing and all, mine is stock.

supra suspension can be made to handle very well on a track.

you can easily make the SC a 3000lb car. i put mine on a scale, and it came in at 3700lbs. i weigh 200lbs, i had a welding oxygen tank in the back, along with the spare and all my tools. remove that along with a back seat, and it will drastically lower the weight. heck, you can remove the seats for some light buckets and you'll save a ton of weight off that alone.

^^ Though the big trunk and back seat are selling points for the SC, I think. You get a proper sports GT that can go, handle and stop and rear passenger and cargo space for everyday practicality. It doesn't need to be down to 3000lbs completely stripped. 3400-3500lbs with a full interior works just fine, especially with a turbo.

Many of today's popular RWD muscle cars and GT performance cars are right around 4,000lbs stock (or more) and and the SC's weight combined with its suspension isn't insignificant.

Indeed you can do a lot with the suspension setups of the Z30/31 and JZA80.

oh, i didnt realize the SC had a large back seat/trunk, i just assumed it'd be tiny like all coupes

to be frank i havent even sat in one. they're hard to find within short driving distance anyway and the back-to-back-to-back snowstorms up here in massachusetts has mark car browsing difficult

I think if you talk in terms of laptimes and actually how the car handles around a track etc, the SC and Supra can definitely be made to handle as good as any car (within reason). When it comes down to the "feel" of the car..a little bit more difficult because the car is just big and fat. The steering isnt as crisp or sharp as I would like. The car is very predictable though, so thats a plus I guess..

Too many teenagers or people with nothing but hopes and dreams will come on here and badmouth SCs because they bought a car for $2k and expected something great out of it haha.
