I think my sc400 is toast
Was driving to a class and temperature on car was going above halfway mark, and thermo housing blew apart so I bought new housing and thermo and tried to get home temperature shot up again, and I think may engine is toast cause now it sounds like a diesel, im thinking now the water pump was the problem. Is there any chance to save it.

Ouch. How many miles on your sc? I don't even know where to start, have you checked your thermostat to see if it works? It could also easily be your waterpump. Those are the common items along with the clogged radiator as far as cooling issues go.
I would start with thermostat removal first, runn the engine without it to see if your coolant/ water circulates through the radiator and back to the block or not. If now replace the water pump and lastly if it's still not then it's your rad.
I hope his gives you la little help, and while you're doing that, you might want to replace your plugs/wires I would

If you overheated enough to blow your head gasket, that will cost some cash. If no bhg, then just replace the wpump, thermostat, and go from there, after you replace all the parts let it idle and get it to the normal operating Temps to see if it will repeat it self before you go driving again!
