Hi I been wanting to buy an sc300 for quite sometime and now that tax season is around the corner, I saw a lexus sc300 on craigslist for 3500 with 170k miles the interior looked solid and so did the outside its a pearl white, so my question is, is it worth 3500?

Rear spoiler is from older generation SC's, could be a sign that the title isint as clean as the owner says it is. Could also be that he perfers that style better and changed it. Either way, something to look into.

The grammer alone sure doesn't help...$3500 is a fair price if it doesn't have any major issues. Looks like the seats are pretty well faded...the sideskirts also don't look very white anymore.

Never pay what a person is asking. Rule 1 when buying a car. Practically no one puts up a price that is 100% firm these days. Unless it's heavy modded, or very unique, you have wiggle room. I'd start haggling at $2000, and see where you end up. Also know that Edmunds values for private party are far more accurate then KBB. Edmunds values it at $2600 in "Clean" condition, and I always try to buy under an Edmunds value estimate.

That's usually my opening argument, "well Edmunds values it at ___ and that's in excellent condition, you have this wrong and that wrong"...

Unless it has full dealer history, or receipts that show work history on it, it's not worth much more. You always have to leave room for sudden repairs. When you buy it, you might not notice somethings broken on it, but when you do you'll slap yourself for not looking at it better. Good luck with that car, I wouldn't pay more then $2500 unless he has service history like I mentioned.
