I haven't done much to mine yet, but I will, I have decided the car deserves more than what it comes with stock, and that I will be keeping this machine till it is useless... so having said that... I have

Tinted 20% around
10" Kicker Comp + Phoenix Gold XS2300
Just added a kaminari spoiler
shaved the licence plate... not cheap, they did some plastic welding and repainted the whole bumper
Lots of maintanance costs... not cheap, I don't like to hold out on my car, whatever needs to be done is done.

Everytime I find a cheap mod it ends up costing me more than usually... I guess I tend to upsell myself to the nicer things.

Things to come in the near future, HID, springs/shocks, wheels, exaust, some skirts... and eventually an entertainment system.

I know its not much, but I am a student and I can't spend $$$$$ till after graduation.

I know lots of people here have niceeee SCs, nice models for me to look upto.

I've owned my baby for around 1.3 years at the moment, and I have spent so far:
- Full Pioneer ICE upgrade... $2500
- Enkei G-Zero rims... circa. $3500
- TRD air filter... $140
- TRD front brakepads... $140
- Front brakes machined/skimmed... $100

I'm in the same boat as Pheonix here, being a college student here in Australia, and most of the money that I have spent is on maintenance, but apart from a busted radiator top tank, the Soarer is basically trouble-free...

Oh yeah! All prices here are in AUD... and I'm halfway to getting a twin-system exhaust from downpipe! Woot! another $960 gone hahaha...

Hehehe..$7000~$8000 for retirement money? Where are you retiring? In some remote location in Africa?

A fully done up SC (w/o even getting into serious engine mods or ICE) can easily run into that range...

Should be more like this

1) Less Than $5,000 - I'm a mod noob (or I don't care or I'm a student)
2) $5,000 ~ $7,000 - I like my SC
3) $7,000 ~ $9,000 - I love my SC
4) $9,000 ~ $10,000 - My SC and I are one
5) $10,000 ~ $15,000 - My SC is my master
6) $15,000+ - My SC OWNZ yours!!

If you include repair costs from accidents at my local body shop along with upgrades, I’m almost to # 6!

And i'm building mine to be the master's master.......see you on the streets gadg...
Manny, i'm wayyy past #6 already I guess, trying to build the complete package, but since these guys are on installs right now, I'll show mine since everyone else showed theirs, don't remember exact prices but I ballparked it...

- Alpine CVA-1006 6.5" mobile multimedia station $1100
- Alpine RUE-4165 remote $50
- Alpine DVA-5205 DVD/Video CD/ CD player $800
- Alpine VPE-V180A mobile VHS video cassette recorder $400
- Alpine CHA-1214 12-disc CD changer $400
- Alpine PXA-H510 multichannel digital signal processor with Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby 5.1 digital decoder, digital time correction, and digital parametric EQ $800
- Alpine SBS-0715 center channel speaker system $200
- Alpine SPR-176A Type R 6.75" aluminum cone component speaker system for doors $350
- Alpine SPR-176A Type R 6.75" aluminum cone component speaker system for rear deck $350
- Rockford Fosgate Punch 225.2 2-channel amplifier, tested 577 watts bridged $500
- Rockford Fosgate Punch g800a4 4-channel amplifier, tested 1002 amps bridged $800
- Rockford Fosgate Connecting Punch throughout (RP1728 4AWG kit, RP1620 8AWG kit, RP7050 fuseblock, RP7085 distr block, 3 sets RP4380-500 twisted pair interconnects) $500
- Amp rack, sub enclosure, subs $???

That's $6250 so far without the amp rack, subs, and enclosure, and it's not fun trying to fit 6 3/4" spkrs in there , then add the rims and body kit and i'm around fifteen grand already, add at least another fifteen to turbocharge it soon and add some instrumentation, plus security system, Quantum tint (best mod I ever did), real Walnut Burl garnish kit, 100% wood shifter, JDM emblems, and a million other unique little things, plus the purchase price of a '99, and I coulda had a Viper GTS with some cash left over for bolt-ons. That being said, i'll take the Lex coupe over it anyday ....

Best as I can tell, the top 5 of the CL SC budget mountain goes like this:
- 'Ebanks'
- 'sc300tt'
- 'SC300TURBO'
- 'VeilsideRSPsc'
- 'T51R'

'gadgetSC' and myself will be fighting for two of those slots, bare-knuckle if needed...

Also somewhere in there are:
'SC300T' 'Angel' 'Dewsc300' 'lexkid' 'TxrhinoSC300' 'Bschwer' 'philauldridge' 'wayne' 'SC_2JZGTE' 'Hermosa' 'wolfy187' 'quikturbo' and 'ACleanSC4' , that's all the guys with boost, plus all the guys with lots of show but no go (flame away ).....
