Default Rear Fender Modification Extravaganza.

I'm at a crossroads here. I am at a point where I need a bit more tire and my stock metal has pretty much been pulled to its limit. I'm trying to decide between over fenders or metal flares. To help anyone else that is going through this, or may go through this in the future it would be cool to see a photo thread with over fenders, pulls, or modified metal etc. along with wheel and tire specs. (tire sizes, wheel size, and offset), camber specs would help as well.

I only need a little bit more room for more tire. All the over fenders I find are 50mm which means I would have a lot of extra room that I don't need. The metal route would be more durable, fit exactly how I want, but be a bit more difficult and time intensive.

18x11-3 stock metal pulled 235/40/18 ( I want to go up to a 255)

Same wheel on my old car with a 245. For some reason I had a lot more room on this chassis??

Post yours up, especially if you happen to have 50mm overs.

The more I see your car...the more I want to throw all caution into the wind and do this.

A Lexus with the rugged, race-inspired look...

...it's a beautiful to me.

Thanks man. I have always done safe styling on my cars, I decided to do some things I have always wanted. Still a bit to go.

Yes, but I will be going to 12's in the spring. So I need a bit more room in the back. But not as much as 50mm on each side. No I am on Powered By Max coilovers.

Go with a less aggresive setup.....you can do a 18x11.5 with a offset of +50 and you will be able to fit a 315

So this isnt a good looking setup.....

I never understood why people run wide rims with a tiny tire....IMO super stretched tires look dumb and to top it of it is really dangerious....

My man, this isn't a thread about taste. The debate will rage on longer than an old lady's *******.

This looks good.

I would really like to see pictures of someone with 50mm over fenders and wheels specs to help make up my mind.

im in the process of getting my 18x10 +25 wheels fitted with 275/35/18 tires.....I almost thought about trying to go with a 295/30/18 but it would definately require some pull

OBEEWON.....also have you considered doing fender flares.....your SC already has that rugged race car look I think you could pull that look off...you should be able to get into a 300 series tires then

Honestly I am kind of tired of fender flares. Don't get me wrong I think they can look really good, but the whole fad of GT wings and fender flares is getting beat to death.

I don't want to use a tire bigger than a 255. I'm not making a ton of power, and drifting on anything wider than a 255 will get expensive fast, not to mention be over kill. I would sooner go to a stickier compound than a wider tire.

But I only need like another 10mm or so, so if I decide against doing over fenders I will do something like this.

If you do not want more than a 255 why get a 12 inch wide wheel?
