Goodbye Club Lexus
It's been a fun 9 years, but I'm moving on. When I bought my SC, I did a lot of driving and these days I work from home and the Lexus sits in the garage. It's also never been the same for me since that teenager wiped out the right side. It's mostly fixed, but the paint doesn't have that sparkle, the leather is cracking, and it's just not the same car I bought almost a decade ago. I'm selling it and the other SC400. My daughter will keep the 97 RSP SC400 though.
Now that I don't drive much anymore, I can get something completely impractical - and I have. I bought myself a 96 Viper RT/10. Those wheels are plastidipped - it will come off as soon as the car is delivered.

Nice pickup.
Can't believe the P/O plastidipped those wheels though.
Either way that's a nice snag, I've wanted a viper ever since I was a kid and drove one in Grand Turismo 1. I had 6 or 7 of them in my garage on that game at some point which is hilarious looking back on it now.

Thank you. The 96 was a strange year for the Viper. The RT\10 has the Gen1 interior and engine (with a whopping 15 hp increase), but the much improved Gen2 Chasis. The 96 GTS (real hardtop) is all Gen2. This particular RT/10 had the motor modded to bang out 500 horse.
Right? I used to think my 2 seater 300ZX was impractical. Heck, it had windows and outside door handles plus cargo room.
Hmmm, that's debatable. The original Gen1 was first seen in 1989 as a concept, while the SC design was approved in 1989. Not sure who wins that. To me, they both have timeless sexy lines.
I do really enjoy the torque a V10 puts out. I stuffed a 6.8 V10 into my F150 and it's only 425 ft/lbs
He said he plastidipped the wheels because it made it easier to clean the brake dust off and to help protect them. I too have wanted a Viper since before there was Internet! I just couldn't justify or afford it until now.
I may not even have pulled the trigger yet, but I guess my wife got sick of hearing me say I wanted a viper and started pushing me to get one. That still took several months of persuasion. Maybe she doesn't realize this will affect her Coach budget. I'm a lucky guy.
