First off, let me say congrats on the new ride! Not a fan of the Viper, but it does look amazing. I think a Lotus would have been more up your alley

Second, I'd like to say thanks,I remember I was having issues with getting cruise control to work, and because of your post (like four or five years ago) I was able to figure it all out.

Have fun with your new ride, but don't forget to check on us from time to time

Awesome!

Well, I sold my baby last night. It was heartbreaking, but the new owner is very excited and I'm sure he will take good care of her. I hope the Viper is worth it!

It showed up at 9:45 AM yesterday. Poor little guy was really dirty from the trip!

After I cleaned him up and got that horrid blue off the wheels, it looks AWESOME! I love it. We instantly bonded. It's so responsive and SOOOO much torque - for a NA. You mash the gas and it just GOES. I think the Lexus would be about a half second behind it in the quarter mile, but the Viper gets the fun factor in every gear. It corners amazingly too.

Did I mention I love this thing?

Damn dude that's sick. If you don't mind, how much did you pay? Any plans for the Viper? Paint, wheels etc...?

I got a really good deal. I got it for just under $20k. It's half paid off with the sale of my Lexus and other stuff. No plans for wheels except maybe a powdercoat and the paint is outstanding already. Also this paint scheme is a 1996 only and one of 200 or so. It MAY get a nitrous system in the future, but it's a lot of fun now and traction is sketchy in stock form with the 335/35's and LSD.

Congrats! I think most born car guys have wanted a Viper at some point. I'm a car guy. Not just a SC car guy.

Enjoy the toy! I know you get sense of pride & cheeshish smirk as you drive. New flame ignited.

It is the most fun car I have ever driven. I'm amazed at how much attention it draws. I'm an attention ***** and it's a bit overwhelming. I have already had 3 people ask if I would trade them, 2 people ask how much it was, a multitude of compliments, and I lost count of the stares and rubber neckers. This is all within 2 hours of actual drive time!

I'm glad I bought a driver and not a garage queen though. My daughter and I left the house yesterday with the top off because it was a bright and sunny beautiful afternoon with no rain in the forecast. LIARS!! We got soaked! ...and I was still having fun.

Good Lord... That rain would have totally killed my vibe. When I say cars are my passion, I mean it. Just the thought of rain + a topless Viper makes me cringe.

Must have been light rain. But see, now you're out and driving. I can see how having a damaged SC would deter you. Now you're back in action... 500hp worth 😁

Just give it more gas and the rain mostly stays out of the cabin. Win-win.

Yeah, but they put these stupid Christmas lights up and everybody plays this game where they stop if they see red ones and I get blocked in.

Maybe I'm a bit off on my Viper knowedge, but I thought ALL RT/10 models had the side exit exhaust . . . .

Side exhaust was actually dropped in 1996 because too much heat was being radiated into the seats.

Close... Too much heat was being radiated into peoples legs exiting the car! The exhaust still routes through the same side sills, but has additional piping to exit out the rear. The cats and mufflers are in that bulge under the doors and they still get quite warm.
