Yeah, I saw a few more on there but the other one's shapes didn't look right. I think I searched sc400 ミラー. Or some had chassis numbers in the title too. With shipping I think the covers would have been $150-$200ish? Saw some soarer mudguards on there too but pretty sure they're from the early soarer.

12 year old German trends on 20 year old Japanese cars. I dunno...............

Hell they are factory on my benz and I still don't care for them. I do like the indicator lights in the fenders though. I think the smaller they are and more discreet the better they look when they come on turning. A strip of chrome-tastic led's running across the mirrors.... not so discreet.

Best case scenario for the mirrors is a single led indicator at the very tip.

I think mirror turn signals not only look good, but are one of the all-time great notification/safety devices. Right up there with the 3rd brake light. It's impossible to miss the blinkers on a car with mirror turn signals.

I'm not sure I see your point about them being a 12 year old German trend... It's a very modern trend on Japanese cars. Do you consider airbags to be a dated early 90s trend?

lol about the airbags statement, I see what you mean.

Personally I think they make the car look a lot more modern, but these wouldn't exactly have any safety feature without somehow wiring a custom sensor for it with a custom mirror itself. Which isn't impossible to do I guess.

The ones that have been pictured here are non-functional? I would put that into the "lame" category if so. If you're going to go to the trouble of moulding them in, tap into the turn signal wiring!

Oh I was talking about the rear view sensor thing you know? With the newer cars? RIght, that was the topic? lol but I'm pretty sure these covers are wired with bulbs, I don't thing it would be very hard to tap into the turn signals but I could be wrong

I definitely agree with you t2d2 that it would be so much better if they were truly functional. The ones I have do have wires attached to tap into the turn signal wiring but I honestly do not have that kind of time to find those wires on the car and tap into them properly since my SC is a daily driver.

Once I buy a new DD and the SC will be just a weekend car I will definitely go back and get them tapped in for sure so they are truly functional. I think they definitely add a little more of a modern touch to the car.

My problem with that is they're not just non-functional, they're potentially dangerous. Mirror turn signals are a high visibility safety feature, and when they're not functioning, it can fool the eye into not noticing the less visible turn signal down lower.
