Yes sir!! The 2 main reasons i bought it was that it was OBD1 and 5-speed so i could easily na-t it. I will be looking to make 400-450whp which will be pushing limits of the W58.

^^ Awesome! OBD1 is certainly easier. As for the W58 I wouldn't trust it for long even at 400whp even with granny shifting. Maybe if you tuned the car to 300whp max or so until you can get an R154 or AR5 in there.

well the R154 isnt much better unless its been built IMO.... every one ive had the 1st gear thrust washer has gone out.

The size of the gears in the R154 dwarf those in the W58. The main weaknesses bothered me too, so when I bought mine I just had it upgraded and rebuilt before getting it installed. It's just that thrust washer and the front bearing retainer plate that are the biggest culprits with all the shift forks being second in line. Edit: That, and using only Redline MT90 oil.
