Default No radio = No climate control?

While taking apart my stock headunit, I'm pretty sure I broke it while removing the LCD plate.. I had it out for a good minute because I was too lazy to fix it, but now that it's getting cold, I need heat.

I plugged everything back in (with the broken headunit), but the climate control doesn't come on, nor does anything in the center console. I saw that the cig light fuse (15A) was blown, but replacing it had no effect on the climate control functioning.

Does anyone know if the climate control and radio are 'connected' so that if one doesn't work, the other follows suit?

The climate control will work without the radio working. You must have blown a fuse somewhere.

Is there anything inside the cig lighter? Unplug the cig lighter, replace the fuse, and see what happens.

Are you sure? Another car I had didn't work without the radio.. it makes sense that it should, though.

Ya, there was a penny in there and the fuse was busted. I took the penny out and replaced the fuse, but no dice.

I'll check other fuses, not sure what it could be, though.

it should definitely work without the radio, i don't have a radio at all, just a big hole there with the climate control sitting lazy and it works.

That's what caused it, check your other fuses, even check the one under the hood I'm pretty sure there's a radio no. 1. Try that one
