The blend door actuators were broken...

Is there anything I should replace while in there. We are replacing the whole heating unit. I think I may ask him to use the heater core currently in the car because that has only 68K miles on it and the replacement has twice that.

Well, may as well do my swap to mostly black interior now....

This is going to cost me a ton....

Wow.... Never seen one like that....

If your side view mirrors do not work, perfect time to replace the mirror controller ECU.

If your instrument cluster is shot, consider sending it to Tanin and have it repaired/restored to whatever color combo you want.

If the trim around your a/c heater vents are cracked, another opportunity....

Check out the Popformance LXCC digital controller.

I am sure others have a list of suggestions as well.....

Duck05,
All those things are perfect. The car had only 68K miles on it. Cluster is perfect and bright. Mirrors work fine, vents are cool. I did take the dash home to SEM it. I'm going to swap out the carpet, seats and brown plastic trim for black.

At times like these, it's best to remind oneself how much these cars cost new and that there's nothing you can do to exceed the original value.

Have him put a new heater core in the car. If the current one ever fails, you'll have to get the dash removed again to get to the heater unit it sits in. It's a lot cheaper than the labor to install it..

I called to halt progress to discuss that but the other heater unit was already in and the car was partially assembled. I get the strange feeling something won't be right and he will have to go back in anyway.

I'm seriously dreading this bill....

You could also replace the A/C evaporator and especially the thermal expansion valve... although you don't need the entire dash out to replace those to my knowledge and if both are still working then you can probably wait on them.

Yes she is my friend. I knew it was coming and I'm fairly well prepared. Its just part of having 3 cars at around 20 years old.

If I knew how to do that ^^, I would have for sure.
