96 sc 300 clutch pedal too much play
Just bought a factory 5 speed 96 sc with 175k miles
I notice that there is a lot of play on the clutch pedal. Moving left and right and up and down. It engage with the gears okay but have to use some force to push the clutch pedal in to change gears. The force is so much more than my 95 Toyota corolla.
Is this normal
Need help

The LExus clutch pedal is much stiffer than any toyota car I have driven its normal. there is a spring on the clutch pedal that can be removed to help with that I think. It shouldn't move left to right, I would get down there and check that all the bolts holding the pedal to the firewall are tight.

Also, where the pedal is actually bolted to the bracket, sometimes there's a little plastic pivot bushing the bolt goes through, I've seen those deteriorate in some older pedals. Not sure if it applies to the sc, but I've seen only in other Toyota swap pedal candidates
