Default Interior Restoration

Hey so my interior is really bad. From my last post, i was unsure of my interior color. It is in fact, white. Looks to me like some pieces were wrapped with leather. My question is whats the best route to go down for interior restoration. Wrap, paint, or find new or used parts? Or is there other ways i am missing? Does the lexus dealer or any company make oem interior parts for our cars? I need both door panels, dash, center console, everything basically, even the plastic trim around the side windows and behind behind the seats under the smaller back windows. If you've done some interior restoration in your sc, reply and lmk how you went about thanks

Most of us get used pieces in good condition and it seems like the most popular interior color right now is black. If you want to go with the original ivory color interior (some call this tan) you can get individual pieces from Aliga on this sight who is a very reasonably priced retailer dealing in salvage autos. You can also get it from other members on this sights classified section. Good news is if you go with the ivory you can get a good deal since most people are getting rid of those interiors. I have an ivory interior and prefer it to black. There are a couple companies that make skins for your seats and Lexus sells very few of the interior parts any more. You can log onto Sewell Lexus website and we get a discount by entering your screen name in their database. They are a great supplier of parts and very knowledgeable. Good luck and welcome.

I would definitely look for used interior pieces, some people have near mint pieces for cheap. SC Facebook group will be a good place to look. Depending on how much you want to spend and what you can afford you might want to check out an interior restoration and leather shop.

I have a few by me and they can be pricey, but I usually find that in the winter the prices tend to drop as business slows. I got a quote for all new perforated leather seats, front back, and arm rest, and door arm rests for $1200. When I asked the same guy in the winter he said $900. Big difference.

Biddles, did that include installation? I was quoted $750 for just the driver's seat. I don't see how anyone could do it for ~$200 per seat, considering that doesn't even cover the leather cost (unless they're really cutting corners on materials), let alone assembly and installation.

$900 for all that work and in leather is crazy! I don't know of any shop that would do all that work for that price here.

So something you need to understand is IF you buy used parts, you will not be able to get your interior to 100%, unfortunately, the brittle 15 year old plastic on these cars do fail no matter what state or weather so parts like the center vent or the interior window trim that incircles the window, you'd have to pay a pretty penny to buy one with no cracks. As for the door panels, those aren't too hard to locate, but they will all have at lerast one crack.

Buy used if you're not crazy OCD.

Buy new if you have too much money and hate broken things.

Oh, I buy used BTW...

Lots and lots of hunting for used parts in the best condition you can find and also plenty of hunting on the Sewell Lexus parts system for exact numbers and hunting for the best prices you can get those part numbers for. Occasionally you'll want to buy some original parts.
