I would not run wheels without hub rings......I have always used plastic ones without any issues
They offer spacers that are sized to 73.1 on the wheel side.....so no hub rings required....
You can get them with the lexus/toyota hub 60.1 and have the outside matched perfectly to which ever wheels you decide to go to match the hub size..i.e..73.1

If you are running (aftermarket) wheels that are a different hub size (larger than stock) then you really should use hub centric rings to PERFECTLY center your wheel to the hub, BEFORE you install and tighten your lug nuts. Doing so will help to minimize, if not completely negate, any wheel vibrations that could occur from your wheel being off center. Wheel vibrations can and often occur even with wheels that are off center by as little as one or two millimeters. With hub centric rings being so cheap via Ebay, whether plastic or metal, it makes absolutely no sense not to install them. You may even find your steering wheel vibrations are now gone. A very thin coating of anti-seize on the contact surfaces will help with any "sticking" issues. Personally I use the cheaper plastic rings, but I understand why some of the track guys prefer the metal ones. A set of Hub-Centric rings are the best $10+ you can spend on your car! Guys....this is a no brainer.
