Default Window problem

I have a window problem on the passenger side, I have searched the FAQ but not 100% sure what the point of repair will be?

- Window first started to slide down an inch from some bumps (pass side), no signs of vandalism just happened out of the blue.

- I can lower the window fine but it does not go back up ( and no sound)

- both door's switch does not work the window in the up direction, but it does change the alternator sound so it is drawing current, so I think the switch is OK.

- I can slide the window up and down by hand without any resistance, down is to the point I have rolled the window down via the switch, I didn't want to put the window all the way down that I cannot grab it backup.

-so there is no motor to roll the window back up and hold it in place.

Please tell me why would the motor not go up in the up direction? It is one motor working both directions. Seems to be drawing current but no sound.

Thanks

At noon I went to the car and confirmed up switch made no sound at the motor on each side.

In the evening the battery somehow drained and required a jump start, but the motor now makes noise both directions, just not actually push the window up.

So this confirms I probably need a new regulator, any idea how the bad regulator could have caused the battery to become drained (coincidence from playing with the switches on a weak battery)? I didn't leave the keys in the car.

Did you ever resolve you troubles? When I had that happen, the motor was fine, but the plastic clip that holds the cable to the window had broken. It took me about an hour to fix it, there's a thread about it around here somewhere.

Yes, I ended up putting in a new regulator, the old one has multiple cracks and the cable stop had went right passed it and stuck in the pulley

It works great now.
