Default Should I go ahead and buy it?

Seller is asking 3500. Should I get it even if its been sitting for 5 years? How much should I offer?
I live in Canada, and we never got any SC300 here, this is the only one for sale near me.

Here is the ad

Rare Black 1995 Lexus SC300 2JZ - $3500

I have a rare black on tan 1995 Lexus sc300 with a factory 2jz all stock.
This car has 165 M. It was imported 6 years back with all Documents.

This is in dead a easy project. It has been sitting for 5 years with no use. It starts up and runs great.
Does not burn or leak any oil. 2jz sounds strong and I had it out a few weeks ago and it runs and drives good. Lots of power and smooth auto transmission. I recommend going over everything as its been sitting for 5 years. Will need a battery. Will need some interior work as well such as door panel repair etc. Great luxurious coupe with a famous 2jz. This ant your ugly 90-92 sc400
asking 3500. serious inquires only. If you don't have the money don't contact me . I will only reply with name and numbers.

I'd buy it pending a few answers to questions and negotiations.
See if:
1) Timing belt and water pump has been done. That job is $500-1200.
2) See if bushings on the front end have been replaced
3) See if it had a recent tuneup
4) See if ALL fluids have been changed
5) See if all hoses and vacuum lines have been changed
6) See if the suspension has been changed
7) See if transmission has been serviced
8) See if there are any leaks AT ALL
9) See if the O2 sensors were replaced
10) See if the belts have been replaced

The answers are likely no. Use this to negotiate him down $500 to $1500.

Buy it. It looks great! I might change that body kit after all maintenance is done. Black is my favorite Sc color!

Pass. There's a few really nice Soarers you can buy locally in that price range, and they're running.

I wouldn't touch it. That ad is so full of gibberish, nothing the guy says can be taken at face value. There's bound to be a lot more wrong with it than he admits to.

you will be spending close to $3500 in maintenance alone, after purchasing that car.

Thats funny cuz 3-4 days ago there were at least 4 Soarers in the Vancouver craigslist, all under $5k.. I know there's a few for sale on RevScene, one nice white one, think the seller was asking $4200 outta Abbotsford. Either way, stay away from this one, its going to be a PITA.

What part of BC are you in? Lower mainland?

Everyone that is telling you that an Sc that has been sitting is a nightmare must not have ever purchased one. I find that laughable. I just purchased a 68K sc300 5 speed that sat for 5 years. I changed fluids, belts, brakes tuned it up and I have been driving it like I stole it (I kind of did).

Not one major issue except aggressive Kentucky spiders that truly believe they can kick my ***!
The car runs beautifully and handles my abuse without a hiccup!
However.....
If you can find a way to afford one of those Soarers, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
