Exclamation About to be another owner of a 93 SC 400. Any pointers??

Hey gals and girls!

Im about to purchase a 1993 SC 400. 1 owner vehicle, bought locally in 93, garage kept, never left the state. Completely stock. Previous owner was an older lady. Has all maintenance records along with original window sticker. ($44,600 in 1993)

All i plan on doing to it : Wheels, coil overs, tint, and exhaust. Anyone have any suggestions on any of these items? Definitely need to get those wheels flush with the fenders!

Any pointers on what i could do performance wise to get a little more power out of this 1UZ? Ive heard its not the easiest motor to get power out of. And i know the PO just had the 100k maintenance done on it. Other than some very minor gasket seal leaks, the car is solid.

In my opinion, th 5 speed swap is the single most fun upgrade for the 400. I have an automatic 300 and 400. I also have a 5 speed 300 and I can't stop driving it. The 1UZ is even more powerful than the 300 and the 5 speed let's you get at ALL of the power potential of the 400. It really wakes the car up big time! If I had swapped my 400, I would not have purchased the 5 speed 300.

DO IT!

If you have big money, build out the motor, get headers, supercharge or boost it but the 5 speed may totally satisfy you!

If u just want a nice looking car. Then do wheels, coilovers, tint, and a 97 kit or a auto couture kit

hahaha she is already mine

I stumbled upon this car unintentionally actually. I was looking at a 99 SC300 with 110k on it but it had a rebuilt/salvage title and the guy wanted 8k for it. Couldnt supply me with any kind of maintenance records as to where the work was done at or anything along those lines. My guess is some mom and pop shop around the corner from the dealership.

Anyways...this 400 was located bout 25 miles away from where i found the 300. 6yrs older than the 300 but it also has 8k less miles, CLEAN title, 1 owner, bought locally and has never left the state. Hell, the spare tire has never even been removed from the car. Tools are still in original packaging AND the 12 disc CD changer still works flawlessly. I got VERY lucky to stumble upon such a well kept 22yr old 400.
