Default Climate Control Celsius readout

I had my aftermarket nav unit along with my OEM climate control stolen some time ago. Some of the wiring was cut out in the process. When the shop replaced the climate unit, it worked fine, but now my temps are being displayed in Celsius. I'm wondering what drives this; I'm assuming the Climate Unit itself. Perhaps they put in an 'outside the US' unit?

as far as i know , US models give temp in Fahrenheit and Canadian models and JDM are in Celsius so my guess is that you have a Canadian climate control like i have
i own a CDM model

Ok, that's what I thought, that the unit itself is the driving factor of the output. I just wanted to make sure there wasnt some little box in the wiring harness or something crazy.

If I'm not mistaken, the HVAC unit is the climate control computer. I don't think there's anything else that could affect its inputs in terms of processing.

That's pretty cool IMO. I was thinking about getting the digital tachometer from overseas just because it looked updated..

This is what I was assuming as well, but I just wanted to confirm. Everything works fine, but the replacement shows Celsius now, which narrows it down to an 'outside the US' climate control they put in. Guess I'll be swapping it back out and finding a new US unit.

Or perhaps this and just cut out the middle man: http://www.popformance.com/products/lxcc/

What's this climate control nonsense? My car didn't have that option.

The unit that controls the AC, as seen at this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-00-Lexus-SC300-SC400-Factory-OEM-A-C-AC-Heater-HVAC-LCD-Climate-Control-Unit-/261323817261?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1999%7CMake%3ALexus%7CModel%3ASC300&hash=item3cd81d012d&vxp=mtr

Hmm, perhaps I will take that Canadian climate control off your hands.
What year is it for? I have a '99 and I know the newer climate control plugs at the back were a bit different.

Mine is a 99 as well. I believe that 97-99 is the group for our climates. I wont be back in the states until Sep 6, but I can keep you updated if you'd like. Thank's everyone for the help with this issue.

I too have a Canadian born SC400 w/Celsius readout. You get used to it. I the plus side, I don't ever hear much of the "bleeding" issues that the US models have. Mine is still perfect from 1993.

My Celsius is also free of bleed. But I wonder if it's to do with less heat in the car during the non-summer seasons.
