At the extreme opposite end of the spectrum, there's a '95 SC400 with 190,000 miles for $13,000 in Tigard! Search the Portland, OR craigslist. Doesn't even have any interior pics, although Italian leather interior front seats are claimed. Basically a bone stock car with a fresh paint job.
More pics of the car please! And whats the status with the 95 Platinum SC400? Do the body kit yet?
Matt,
I really love the look of a Platinum, Stock bodied Sc with an OEM lip, lowered with nice wheels. Pete Soarer's car (below) got me addicted ages ago. I am going to just paint the OEM nose, put on my OEM lip and keep it like that. I will put my wise lip and Shine sides and rear on the red car after I get another set of BC Racing coils and wheels for it. The 97' is now officially the snow, winter beater. I will put Blizzaks on it and call it a day. I am paranoid to get hit in the 5 speed or mint 400 and be offered 4-5K by the insurance companies.
I now need to figure out how to get my wife to prefer to drive the 97'
Now I know what that color is. I was driving behind one last week, and just as I caught up, it turned off at the split in the road. As I'm alongside it, I see a For Sale sign in the window... Who sells a car these days without putting it on craigslist??? Even stranger, as the Platinum one veers off, it reveals a red SC that was directly in front of it! That's seriously like a month's worth of SCs in the area. I was like a cat trying to choose between two mice.
Very nice, theres a 1996 blk/blk sc300 with 36k miles for sale by me that i keep eyeing, but hes asing 8k
If the car is mint, then its worth that sort of $$$$$
I paid $9,000 for my 1992 SC300/5 speed back in 2012, it had 60k on it, timing belt just done, always dealer serviced, I'd say it was a solid "#2" no + or - in terms of condition.
The day I picked it up:
It looks the same, except some new wheels/tires and no more gold trim, and maybe one rock chip since it now has 80k on it.
Looks like it's got a bit of hail damage, was it blue before? From your paint post I see blue under the red. Never have I seen blue primer unless it's been tinted for blue over coat. do you think that country gal gonna be able to survive the Tri-boro area? LOL Corn fed beauty she is.

Dunno what the 4 dents are from. I guessed vandalism because I thought hail would have wrecked more of the car. It was never anything but RR for sure, must be an illusion from the pic/lighting. I will keep this country gal in a garage after NYC "bumper car" parking screwed up my 400 bumpers. We are buying a place with a garage under the building. The 400 and this one will be kept safely inside for the rest of their lives. The 97' will be a winter beater "red headed step child" with snow boots on left outside on the street. I'll continue to feed her corn like she is used to.

You could always paint it garnet pearl. Throw some Leatherique on those seats before it's too late.
I prefer dark colors on the Sc but my luck has brought me none ;-). The RR grew on me as soon as I got the vision of what I will do with it. I am going to put Varrstoen ES6 (Meister rep) in all gloss black/gold rivets on it. BC Racing drop (like her brother), Black out the emblems, windows, and all trim. That will make it mean as possible for a red car. The woman who owned it LOVED IT. She got sick and passed, but while alive, she maintained it like crazy. She just did not take it to Lexus because it was really far from her "out in the country" diggs. Her husband owns a Limo company, so he knew the importance of regular maintenance. It lived in a garage it's entire life until last year.
