The UZZ32 V8 with 4ws has oil suspension - not the air suspension of the UZZ31. Fitting the suspension and 4ws to a US spec UZZ30 or any other Soarer is far fetched - it just wouldn't be practical. The left hand drive and 4ws steering rack would never fit. The complicated oil Active suspension is a nightmare and no one would ever attempt the change over once they have seen it for themselves.
The airbag suspension may fit - but it would be a huge job fitting all the bits. It's not active suspension, it's just airbags instead of springs - the rest is the same as a coil suspenson (well just about).
The pic above is my UZZ32 doing a suspension test

i don't really see that big of a deal driving on the right. feels the same to me. converting to lhd is actually easier than moving all them high pressure oil lines PLUS all the pumps/actuator, sensors, and controllers.

swapping steering wheel all you need is interior and steering rack and extend the wiring to other side. I'm not going ot say it's a cake walk, but it's prolly easier than the suspenzion for a 32.

so what exactly is the diff between a Jzz30 with the airbag and the UZZ32? is the Airbag suspension also active from the GT limited?

Default UZZ32 V8 with 4ws has oil suspension

UZZ32 V8 with 4ws has oil suspension

Yeah..I'd probably want the Japanese Spec UZZ32 V8 with 4ws has oil suspension...Soarer and do a left drive conversion. THEN drop the turbo supra engine in w/upgrades..

Sounds more pracitical.
[Well..in the realm of impractical body modifications..it's the lesser of the 2]

Now if that lottery ticket hits..we can make this a reality.
Plus the (all carbon fiber body)
hehe

Anthracite,
It may seem practical, until you discover that only 865 or so Actives were ever built

Dimcorner,
JZZ30 - 2.5GT twin turbo Soarer available with coils or TEMS that controls the suspension/damper rates (NOT airbag TEMS)
UZZ30 - V8 Soarer you guys get in the US (the basic mechanically speaking), but without leather, power steering column etc. etc.
UZZ31 - V8 Soarer with most of the fruit, 'Skyhook' (read: airbag) TEMS etc... smaller brakes than the twin turbos
UZZ32 - V8 Soarer with ALL the fruit (mechanically speaking), twin turbo Soarer brakes, 4WS, active suspension etc... plus all the luxuries...

Default Also

A more real world solution would be to
get a total Supra Suspension system and go for there.

I'm sure you'd get all the handling performance u'd want from that right?

I mean I bet that would hang w/the Uzz32?

It would be difficult to combine all the aspects of a UZZ32 with conventional suspension.
The Twin Turbo has suspension very similar to the Supra.

You can see a video of a Twin Turbo trying to hang with a UZZ32 on the planetsoarer.com video page:

is the video page

Default JUST REPLYING TO EARLIER POSTS

Just think how cool and original, driving a right hand drive car in the us.I dont seem to have any problems driving my uzz31 here.
The cost of attempting all those mods=maddddddness.I'm sure it would be cheaper to import the 32 privately.

i'd personally rather buy a car that is setup and correct than build one. think about the computer that runs it, then the parts the computer runs, then whats left? an engine and a set of wheels, everything else has been changed. by the car is always cheaper than by the part, so i'd not want to be the one attempting to foot the bill for such an adventure.

The most cost effective way would be to come to Australia for a holiday. While you're here I can organise a drive in a twin turbo, a UZZ32 active, a UZZ31 airbag, cold beer and steaks - so bring the camera!

Now thats my kind of holiday!!
I wish the airfare wasn't so high to get there. I've always wanted to see Australia. Even better from the inside of a Soarer!!

QUESTION.. could all the necessary spec's/mods be done prior to importing the car into the us? so it could just sail through us/dot/custom's? say from austrailia. he he just a thought
