Default HELP! my SC400 is down :/

Hey guys! so i just bought a 1992 lexus sc400, runs like a dream when i got it but the fuel pump was on its last legs when i purchased it, so it finally died on me the other day so i swapped in a cheapo replacement untill my Walbro came in the mail, so i ordered my walbro and a wix racing filter to swap in. but basically the symptoms of the car is it will fall on its face with normal driving, the reason why i think its the pump is because if i pump the throttle when it dies going over 35 mph its it start itself back up and run like normal but will start cutting out and dieing after. but the car maintains power (radio, lights, ect.) when it dies.. can you guys help me out with any ideas? im not new to the toyota game but 1uz's im not that expierinced with... maybe a fuel pressure regulator? it has 210k on her and id really like to drive her.

Check the fuel pump ECU and the main ECU to ensure the pump is receiving the correct signals.

The important step that's usually left out there is you can test it with the pump ecu bypassed instead of permanently modifying things. Just jumper the Fp and +b pins in the diagnostics box next to the intake manifold. If that works, then you know the fuel pump ecu is your problem and you can either replace it or permanently bypass it.

okay! so lexi started acting up... i managed to get her to work yesterday morning without a hitch but then when i went out to her at my lunch she would not start... dead in the water, i could hear only 4-5 cylinders fire then nothing.. so when it got close to the end of the day my buddy to our shops scan tool out to the lexus and pulled the codes, 14, 24, and 41.... should have done that in the first place! so i brought it in the shop (i work at a honda dealership btw). and me and a couple other techs started crackin at it.. we unplugged the right side coil pack and jerry rigged it so the other coil wire would spark on one of the strut bolts.. it ran but the engine would run on only 4 cylinders from the other coil side. this is how we finally figured out the coil was bad.. so does anyone know of some forum threads i can look at to help me replace it? it seems fairly simple but i cannot for the life of me get the 14mm off the mounting bracket.. lucky the part is only $50
