Default Should I buy this SC300?

What's up guys, so I'm thinking about buying my second SC, first I had a 400 but totaled it a couple months ago. Now I'm looking into a 300 with hopes of going some kind of turbo (completely undecided on my path, just looking for car atm)

I'm looking at one, needs some work but that's fine with me, he's listed it for $1500. Leaking water pump and power steering, 257k miles, needs some exterior work, not bad, body is straight just a little rust.

Comes with an exhaust and 18 inch G35 wheels, black on black, interior is straight besides driver door panel.

Thinking about starting at just like 1k, and going from there? What do you guys think, how hard is replacing a water pump and power steering and the costs?

EDIT: its a 95 SC300 just to clear things up.

Post pictures of it so we can get a little better idea. If there are and I can't see them on mobile, sorry.

The guy wouldn't go lower than $1300, I think I'm going to buy.

Yeah for $1300 I'd say go for it. If there's issues with the water pump it may have over heated so who knows what condition the motor or head gasket is in but 1300 is worth almost any car in parts alone. If anything, you could part it out and make your money back very easily. Good find.

Looks like it was involved in a rear-end.. the lights don't line up at all.
Check the history and the car, if it's good.. replacing the water pump and ps pump is not very hard at all.

EVen with the hit in the back, I'd do it. As Kris9884 said, you can make your money back in parts if anything.

Thanks guys, I know it has some damage to the rear, if anything I'll just fix up the taillights and repaint the bumper. If it has anymore damage I'll consider parting it but I have big plans for the car. Maybe I'll make a build thread

Seems like it has alot of potential. Love the black on black. I would buy it considering it's your project car.

I got mine for 1500 in a lot worse shape than yours...
get ready for some major repair bills though. parts aren't cheap for these cars!

Not worth it.

Better to spend little extra to get a NICE running car. than buy a cheap beat up one and try to fix it, it'll probably cost you more in the long run

I get it but I don't think the cons out weigh the pro's. It already has a front lip, exhaust, its blk/blk and its at least a 94 by telling from the front bumper.

As long as you will be doing the work yourself this is a good deal. If you are not mechanically inclined to do the water pump and taillights etc yourself then assume about double the cost of the car to get it rolling 100%

Edit: I just noticed there are a couple tiny pictures of the interior, can you upload bigger versions?

both good points , I usually lean towards the first one which is buy a better car with lower mileage.

Either way your gonna pay, pay now for the low mileage better condition, or pay later with all the repairs and worn out parts.

With that said this car has the front lip and G35 wheels, you can sell those 2 items right away for almost $1000, and then your paying $300 for the car.

Id buy it , and try to flip it , then wait for a new car to come along.

(Edit) didn't see the rear damage, its been smashed in, id pass on this one
