My SC was used as a "stock photo" without my permission for some product for SC on ebay. I didn't do anything about it because it was a picture of my SC when it was 100% stock so it looked like any other stock SC.

You should just message them and ask them to remove the photo, if they don't, you can report them to Ebay.

I dunno, I dont see how this hurts you. I wouldnt care.
But you could contact them and ask them nicely to remove it. If they dont, escalate it and become more stern. If they still dont keep escalating it threatening them with a lawsuit or something if it really bugs you. Unless you're picture is copyrighted though I'm fairly certain they can use it, but I dont know the first thing about copyright laws so I'm just guessing.

if the picture wasn't taken to make money or advertise originally then they sort of can just use it. you can look into copyright laws some more but i'm pretty sure with pictures it's just that simple. last time i checked was while i was making my portfolio a few months ago.

At least there is no license plate. Pretty much any picture posted these days on almost any web site page is "public domain". Unless they are marked and copyrighted it is next to impossible from being copied and used. I would likely be flattered as long as the use was positive/accurate.

^^^^^ I am with this idea also. As long as the tag was not showed, I see no issue, but in the end, it is your car being used. It doesn't matter what we think or say, it is still your car.

Who put their pic of their car on the internet?

That's who's fault this is.

You have no legal or logical recourse but to thank them for the compliment.

From the hundred of thousands of pictures of our cars that could have been used, I suppose they can easily use another one that's readily available on the internet... if you don't copyright it, put your name all over it, etc Im not sure what leg you have to stand on or care about
- I suppose you could sue Google for making your car picture available... however, that stems to your ISP for allowing you to even have internet access, and to you for even thinking of posting your picture pubically on the internet. Did you even have all your contact information readily available when posting every picture, so that you can be contacted in the event that someone wanted to use it? If not, I think it may be hard for anyone to know who you are, or whos car it is, or that you wouldn't take it as a compliment to have the picture used and be seen by hundreds to thousands.

but I think its kinda neat! But I would contact them and ask if there are other pictures of your car they would like to use, so they may better promote their items! And kindly ask where the picture was taken from, you could then go to said website/location and either alter the picture, or have it removed so its not up to be ''stolen'' anymore.

But Congrats on your car winning the lottery.. its like being a model.. not all of us can be!!

usually they will offer a discount in return for usage of installed pictures. I would talk to them at the least and see if you can get something out of it since it is your car and your pictures originally. its not like they took the pictures themselves.

You can call ebay that the seller is using your car pic. They probably ask for proof then contact the seller to take it down... Overall, seller will use another pics.

If it's your photo, you hold the copyright to it and should tell the seller to take it down. Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean you can use it for whichever purpose you please. Since the seller is using the photo for business/profit, it doesn't fall under fair use.
