Default New to the SC

Hey guys my name is Ryan. I'm from the Louisville, KY area. I just picked up my 95 SC400 today. Very excited!!! Going to make a great daily while my 95 Supra is getting more go fast stuff. I have quite a few questions and am looking for a few things now that I have one. First question I have. What is your alls average MPG in the SC400. I haven't gotten to drive it yet and read a lot of different things. Is it hard to work on the 1UZ? It doesn't look as bad as a Subaru but looks pretty snug in the engine bay. Mine is completely stock and I was wondering what you all would do for little mods first? Performance wise. It has 17inch Enkies on it now and I plan on lowering it some and putting a rear window spoiler and front lip on just to give it a more aggressive look. I'm very happy with the car so far!!! Can't wait to see how well it works out. If anyone has any lowerings springs for sale I would love to pick those up as well as the front lip and rear window spoiler. Mine is missing a few interior pieces I would like to get like the E-Brake cover and maybe stock taillights. Let me know. Thanks! Very Happy to be here!

It's probably rated 17/24 or something similar mpg wise.

For mods I'd go with a cai, or Bfi and exhaust and call it a day...

I get around 18 in the city on average. And that's with a malfunctioning ECU.

The 400 is pretty straight forward to work on. Replacing the starter is a job, but doing the timing belt is up there in the amount of hours it takes. The whole front of the motor has to come off. They are super relaible. Seen several with over 300K and still going. The 92-94 have the non interference motors, so if the timing belt breaks, it will leave you stranded, no broken valves, etc. For the the performance, just do the BFI (bog freaking intake), full exhaust, with 10 inch x pipe, lose the cats and keep the stock mufflers and resonators. JMO. If emissions are a biggie, then lose the resonators and get some Magnaflows for mufflers and keep the cats. What color is your interior? We require all new members to post up pictures or I will be forced to close this thread. LOL

Im in So In. as well. You should list the mileage of your car so we can advise accordingly. Fuel filter should be changed but you need to search and read about the expected problems and solutions to cause it to be a good expearience instead of a nightmare. We refer to your interior as tan, also what color? Ill keep an eye open for you on the road.
