Wanting to know more about car harness.
Hey everyone so I got a hand me down Lexus Sc 400 from my brother upon my graduation. Been wanting to fix everything that he did to her. I Know nothing about cars and want to learn so sorry if I ask a dumb question. First up the Harness. I guess he ran over something big and tore half of the passenger side headlight harness. the only thing left is the headlamp light. I always wondered what the two bottom light were for since they didnt work. Until i checked the right side harness i uncovered that he just left the cornering light hanging. No wonder there was no light. It looked so cool when i popped it in and saw the corner light light up when I signaled. It just looked beautiful so now I want the other side too. Now the question is how do I fix it. Ive been looking and cant seem to find anything about how the Harness works. Thanks.
Another thing the side marker ( I think) bulb is blacked out, that means it burnt out right. Thanks again. I'll try to get some pics whenever I can.

I would hit up the junkyard and take what you need. Harness wise just cut one of from the point were yours is missing and putthem together. And if some lights or accessories dont worksl always check your your fuses, both boxes. But those pics so we can get a better idea.
And the bottom lights depending on what year the car is will the signal indicators (92 - 94) or fogs lights for (95 - 00)
As for the sidemarkers just replace the.bulbs, same.goes to any of them that are blown.

purchase the lexus ewd (electrical wiring diagrams) for your year model car. There's a section in the beginning that sjhows you how to use the book. I'm retarded and I figured it out, so everyone else should be able to do the same. You'll have zero questions after that.

Sorry about the wait guys but just gonna post a follow up. Well finnally the much needed rain has finally come back in Cali and is raininng hard so I can't get good pics until it clears up. Sc around here is valuable most of the stuff I need is usually gone in about 2 days of being posted. I've looked up the ewd but can't find one for my year. I have a 92 sc400

Well sorry about the wait guys and thanks for the tips. Here are some pics. It would have been better if I toook the headlights out but I don't have time.
The right side has the main headlight with two extensions one for the corner and the other for the sidemarker. On the passenger side It only has the main head light and the corner is chewed up and doesn't have the side marker.

I would cut the stock harness off close to the bulb socket, but leave enough room to solder in a new wire. Are you getting 12 volts to either of the bulb sockets with the light switch tuned on? Just cut the chewed up wires off one at a time, solder in new same length ones, and then solder the other end to what is left at the bulb socket side. Then recheck for 12 volts.

Check the voltage using a multimeter set to DC, positive to positive, negative to negative you can pick up a multimeter from harbor freight tools or just about any automotive store. Good Luck!
