It will reset your tune. Which the ECU will relearn anyway. This is normal. There is nothing unhealthy for the car about it.

Everything is going to be alright.

YES, you will need to RESET your CLOCK, thats about it lol.

dont worry. but since you will need to have the ecu relearn you can teach it new tricks now. either power or gas saver or in between. there was a thread about this somewhere.

anyways, remember the correct procedure for disconnecting the battery is to remove negative first, and then positive. and installation/hook up is postive first, then negative. just trying to help, i see a lot of people do this wrong ><

Nothing wrong except that I experience problems with my car not idiling properly.

I have to have my foot on the gas but this is only until i shut it off, I guess it just has to learn its idle RPM.

Once you turn the car off you'll be allright.

I highly reccomend you drive the car when you disconnect it though to insure its okay.

sometimes if a sensor has gone bad or out of range, the ecu will keep going on like normal because it has already learned some stuff. Then, when you reset it and it tries to relearn it may not learn correctly, and that means there is some type of underlying issues going on and hopefully you will throw a check engine light for it.

majority of the time resetting the ecu does not do anything bad, but you are reforcing the ecu to learn stuff like idle position, so if it can't learn it this time around for some reason its not going to "get it right" at first.
the solution is to keep resetting, try the morning before the first start and drive it till its warmed up. if still having issues then probably something needs to be fixed/replaced.
