Default Bye bye boosted sc!

A sad and happy day all at once. I will miss her a lot but I will also not miss some of the niggling problems that would drive me nuts.

I should have never bought a project. As much as I love doing some small stuff, it got to be too much.

I got drawn in by the thought so many of us have had. "Only five k and shell be ridiculously awesome."

Fifteen k later you wish you'd bought the damn supra or the nsx.

So. My second SC is gone. Sold to a racer.

I may be back though. Funny how as soon as I sold mine I was looking for another. But my next one will be fully built upon purchase. No more small stuff that turns into big stuff. No more forcing hundreds and thousands into the engine to squeeze out the extra 20 horsepower.

And of course as soon as I sell it I start seeing them around way more than I did before.

I need to be out if the car game for a couple years. I will come back with a vengeance though. Nsx, supra, m coupe with the s54, m3, something sick. Funny thing is a perfectly built SC with some nice low key mods is equal to all of those. Superior even.

So. Bye for now. Thanks so much for all the intelligence and advice you have all offered. This place is an invaluable resource.

I'm still under 4k in mine and even though my SC is fairly clean it does need some cosmetic work to bring back to mint and I'm already kind of wishing I spent another 4k to buy one of the under 80k mint ones I've seen on ebay lately.

Good luck. I'm financially well into my SC and I've yet to experience boost. I'm stubborn, I guess. I know exactly what you mean. When you feel it's time for a long break, then it's time for one. You will find another car that is what you want and take less effort to tweak.

What's funny is that I've been around and around and around a million times on what I want next.

Supercharged Vette, NSX, Boosted G35, Boosted 350/370, One of those crazy stangs with 800 hp, etc.

And I think that dollar for dollar, nothing matches the looks, performance, and reliability of a well done boosted SC. For 10-12k you can have a sexy sleek swift ride.

Plus it's rare so you don't see them everywhere. I don't want to be like a million other old tools riding a vette on Sunday mornings. And everyone and their mother has a g35 coupe. And the VQ is ****ty for boost.

NSX or MKIV are the only real competitions in my mind. And for the price of a boosted MKIV I can get the best SC out there. And as awesome as an NSX looks, it's slow as hell compared to a 425hp SC.

I hate reading these threads but like everyone else, you will hopefully be back in the game. I can't tell you how much I have in mine. All I have is the 1jz and a turbo. Goal was 500 and exceeded that on pump. I am been lucky that mine hasn't had any major problems to condone a rebuild or something bigger. I stayed within the limits and I am still happy with the power and boost level it is performing. Good luck man. Hate to see you gone.
