How do you guys feel about color changes on sc's?

Have you considered just giving it a really good detail? There's options out there for ~$1000 (and a week of your time) where they completely restore your paint to near new factory condition. This includes paint imperfections and any dings. Just another option to consider, which would probably increase your cars value rather than decreasing it if you go the repaint route.

If I found a reputable quality body shop, then I would. This also includes someone to take the time and do it right. I mean remove the bumpers, window molding, door handles, side skirts, headlights, tail lights, emblems, side mirrors, gas door, rear trunk, all inner door panels when applies, door rubber seals, and do some wiring tuck in the engune bay, then I would. I am very **** when it comes to doing things right. Popping the hood and opening a door, and seeing a different color, just means lazy in my book.

Detailing definitely won't save my paint. Also I wouldn't be going to a shop.
interesting thought, maybe some nicer wheels will distract me from all the scratches in my paint.

post some pics of your car. if you're looking to keep it for a while, i would definitely get a re-spray. if not, then just try to get a proper buff, and yeah, put some 'nicer' wheels on it. it'll look decent

Neither picture really show any of the flaws.

Who owns the SC behind yours? Looks like a '92-96 ....

OK, I get your point...But keep in mind that this is an SC, and a very old and discontinued model. Now you all know that I love the SC...I have spent way more than the car will probably ever be worth. So, I get it, but being concerned abut the value for resale? Not enough to be concerned about, IMHO.
More value? As in a few hundred bucks?
Car looks straight. Just decide what you want, budget it, get started and finish it.

Possibly a few hundred dollars, maybe a little more. It's not something I would worry about unless it was an original RSP SC400 with 20,000 miles on it or some crazy like that. Even then SC's don't go for much these days.
Plus if you don't have any intention of ever getting rid of it then value means nothing.

Your car really doesnt look bad from the pictures. Does it have lots of deep scratches that go into the paint/metal or something? Any oxidation or clear coat chipping off? If not, it can be repaired possibly. Also, wheels will drastically change your car for sure, same with any car. Just search through the pics thread for other 97 body cars on the wheels you want.

Roof has some slag on it from someone wleding, nothing crazy just stuck on there. Clear is starting to peel on the driver rear pillar. both mirrors are scratched up. Baseball sized dent on the passenger door right under the mirror. Drivers door has some long deep scratches along with the passenger side. Rear bumper has a bunch of little things from being bumped into. Both front fenders has small rock chip pepper. and just a bunch of small dings from doors on both sides.
Its not like its just one panel I can fix, pretty much every section of the car needs something. From say 30 ft away it looks fine, but any closer and you start seeing things.
I can't really complain because its been pretty difficult to find and sc at all in NY, my first car took 8 months to find.
