Default Climate control totally dead?

short sweet to the point.

Replaced the LCD on my climate control, put it back nito the car but was not able to turn the unit on, change ac or anything.
Is my whole unit just dead?

Give it time. Someone will chime in, I am sure. Are you sure you put it back correctly? Did your solder get to hot and melt something else?

Make sure all your connections are hooked up, i.e Climate control button/ connectors behind climate control unit.

That's all I can think of

Yeah as far as i know all the ribbon cables are hooked up as well as the harnesses behind. I have taken this thing apart multiple times now I can do it fairly well now, i think i was just too rough when i first took it apart and put it back together and messed something up.

I also cant figure out why my ac doesn't turn on at all. Im gonna have to change out my compressor ac. These cars tend not to turn on even if it just needs a recharged. So I was told lol

Yikes! Aren't you glad winter's coming?

That's why some of us would never live in Vegas. It's a nice place to visit, but ....

Sorry I can't help you on the climate control. My car had one that didn't light at all (but did control everything), so I replaced it with one from a junkyard. That one is the same.
I hope you have better luck than me.

Yeah my cars compressor leaks, I got the car blowing hot air, clutch didn't kick in when I turned AC on, so I thought the compressor was seized up, got it recharged an blowed cold! Found out it does leak though so I guess that's why it wasn't blowing cold, because no freon.

Very glad, that's why Im not in a rush to pick up a new compressor. Yeah I had a burnt screen so it didn't matter, I never touch my AC anyways just turn it on on the 2nd bar and the coldest setting and leave it. I just want AC again!

Hey Paulo, I know your problem.

If your A/C controls...NOTHING works...then all you have to do is pop out the kick panel fuse block lid, locate the 15 amp Cigarette lighter fuse, swap out, and walla, A/C will be blowing...as well as the LCD lighted.
The cig lighter fuse completes the circuit throughout the car. If a coin falls into the cig lighter, lo and behold, the circuit is tripped, and the fuse has nothing to do but pop.
Things like this that are fixed by syuch simplicity makes me like the SC even more...

LMK if this does it!

OP, this happened to me last week. Worth checking the little sucker out. Wasted days and removed mostly the center console/audio area came to find out its that 15amp fuse!

I had no idea where the kick panel was or it even existing I thought it could have been a fuse so I looked at the one Inside the engine bay the other day!

Well at least you got it fixed and it now works. You can also resort back to pulling it apart again and put new LEDs.
